Pasto
r’s Letter
Dear Parishioners:
As you know, we hosted our annual Italian Family Feast a few weeks ago. I think it was fantastic,
and I hope you and your family had a great time. As you can imagine, that success can only come
about with a great deal of “behind the scenes” work. There were many people who worked every
hour of the Feast! That took a lot of time, energy and commitment. While I apologize for possibly
missing out on a few people, I would like to thank the following: Frank Antonawich and Richard
Maher, our Feast Chairpersons. I also would like to thank the following Feast captains: Rita
Vandenburg (kitchen), Tim Bulmer (Security), Loretta Howe (tickets), Andres Martines
(volunteers), Lisa Farney (gambling), Kevin Hahn and Rich DeMotta (food). In addition, I
would like to thank the Parish Council members, under the leadership of Eileen Rega, for taking care
of the sales of the Super Raffle. Also, thanks to the Rosary Christian Mothers for hosting the Shrine
tent.
I told Fr. Greg that he was in charge of the weather and he came through very well; 5 days of great
weather! I think we’ll keep him!
I certainly realize that there was a whole army of people who worked on the Feast, including many
people who worked every single hour of every single evening. While I cannot list everyone who
helped out, I deeply appreciate all the hard work and effort of so many parishioners. They certainly
lived out our parish motto: “Together, we can do something beautiful for God!” I do not know what
the results are yet because we still have bills to pay, credit cards to process, etc. We probably won’t
know the results until the end of October.
I would also like to thank our sponsors who donated so much to our Feast. Please consider using
their services and thank them for being sponsors when you see them. The sponsors were:
iDELIZIA DELI, MUNCH LANDSCAPING, EASTCO LTD, WEST ISLIP WINES &
LIQUORS, SERGEANT B LANDSCAPING, CHAPEY & SONS FUNERAL HOME,
MORELAND HOSE, OCEAN JANITORIAL, ANTHONY’S PIZZA AND PASTA,
P.C. RICHARD AND SON, PRECISION CONSTRUCTION, CAFÉ EUROPA,
EAGLE SANITATION, FRIENDS OF TOM BARRAGA and DAN HENERY.
In Christ,
Fr. Brian
PS: Don’t forget the CATHOLIC MINISTRIES APPEAL. This is the annual appeal to help the
great work of the Diocese, such as Catholic Charities, Catholic Education, Seminary
formation, etc. Once the Parish reaches its goal, the parish also receives a rebate from
the Diocese. Your contribution helps the Diocese and the Parish at the same time.

Come and see the many ways in which young children can learn about many aspects of their faith.
An Orientation Program will be held in the Parish Center on Friday, November 6 at 4:30pm
We plan on meeting on the following dates;
November 17, December 15, January 19, February 2, March 9, April 13, May 18
The Program runs for about 40 minutes.
There is no fee for this program;
To register, e-mail Sister Diane at [email protected]

special Mass of Remembrance, followed by hospitality, on Saturday, November 4 at 11:30am.
Let us remember in prayer this day all who have gone before us marked with the sign of faith and

Something to Draw
Draw a picture of yourself putting money in the collection at church.
Prayer
Dear God, teach me to use money wisely so my community and my church can grow.
Sharing the Gospel
When you grow up and earn money, you will have to pay taxes. Taxes pay for many good things that keep us safe and healthy. When you grow up in your faith, you will want to give God some of the money you earn, because all you have is a gift from God.
Mission for the Week
Take care of God’s world. Together as a family, clean up trash that’s lying around in your neighborhood.
