Dear parishioners and friends:
Pray For An End to Abortion January 22 marks the 44th Anniversary of the Roe v
Wade Supreme Court decision that legalized abortion in
our country. Since that time, the United States
Conference of Catholic Bishops estimates that over 56
million abortions have occurred. Since the 22nd is a
Sunday this year, the annual Day of Prayer for the Legal
Protection of Unborn Children will be Monday, January
23. Our parish will pray for the unborn and for an end to
abortion throughout the day at St. Lawrence Church,
beginning at 9:00 a.m. The parish will offer prayers
throughout the day for the protection of life, and we will
also pray for women who are also victims of this terrible
industry. Holy Hour will begin at 6:00 p.m. before the
7:00 p.m. daily Mass. Our parish’s patroness, Our Lady
of Guadalupe, is the patroness of unborn life, so it is
fitting for our parish in particular to pray to Our Lady for
her intersession and for the protection of life.
Prayer to Our Lady of Guadalupe for an end to Abortion:
Our Lady of Guadalupe,
Patroness of unborn children
We implore your intercession for every child at
risk of abortion.
Help expectant parents to welcome from God
the priceless gift of the their child’s life.
Console parents who have lost that gift
through abortion and lead them to forgiveness
and healing, through the divine mercy of your Son.
Teach us to cherish and care for family and friends
until God calls them home.
Help us never to see others as burdens.
Guide our public officials
to defend each and every human life through just laws.
Inspire us all to bring our faith into public life, to speak for
those who have no voice.
We ask this in the name of your Son, Jesus Christ
Who is Lord forever and ever, Amen.
God Bless you and your families,
Fr. Vincent
Guía a nuestros funcionarios públicos
Padre Vicente
