IMPORTANT Hospital Information: If you are going to the hospital, please speak to the receptionist at the church and let them know when you will be admitted and what hospital you are going to. It would also be very helpful if we knew your room number. Federal Privacy Regulation – HIPPA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act), prohibits all hospitals from informing churches of a patient’s presence unless the patient gives permission for the hospital to do so.

The Chrism Mass in the Diocese of Orlando will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 8 at 6:30 PM at St. James Cathedral in Orlando. This is when the bishop, joined by the priests of the diocese, gather for Mass to manifest the unity of the priests with their bishop.

Here the bishop blesses three oils — the oil of catechumens (oleum catechumenorum or oleum sanctorum), the oil of the infirm (oleum infirmorum) and holy chrism (sacrum chrisma) — which will be used in the administration of the sacraments throughout the diocese for the year. These oils are then brought back to our parish and presented during the Holy Thursday Mass. All are invited to attend the Chrism Mass.

Beloved in Christ, this weekend of the 5th Sunday of Lent, marks the Third and Final Scrutiny of our Elect. Even in the midst of our present challenges of the Corona Virus, with the suspension of public liturgies, God brings us

tremendous hope of restoration. The scrutiny readings, each time, show us a new opportunity, new beginning and new lease on life. The Samaritan woman received a new understanding that changed her life. The man born blind received the gift of sight that transformed his relationships. Today, with the physical resurrection of Lazarus related in the Gospel Passage (John 11:1-45), we see beyond any

reasonable doubt, that not even death can frustrate the plan of God for our wellbeing and salvation. Our Elect and the unbaptized, in as much as they still have Original Sin, are in a metaphysical condition of primordial death: “For the wages of sin is death” (Rom 6:23). But I have good news for them: God declares in the First Reading (Eezk 37:12-14) “O my people, I will open your graves and have you rise from them…. I will put my spirit in you that you may live.” God is the Father Who Keeps His promises. So Jesus will prevail for our Elect at Easter. He will proclaim those powerful words from above: “Take away the stone!” Such would be the command empowering the Church to celebrate with the Elect the Sacraments of Christian Initiation (Baptism, Confirmation and Holy Eucharist); and therefore to remove the metaphysical stone entombing them. The Elect will hear Jesus cry out, “Lazarus, come out!” “Thomas, come out!” “Margaret, come out!” “Unbind him; let him go! Unbind her, let her go!” They will receive the gift of a new beginning, a new understanding, a new relationship; and they will never be the same again (cf. 2Cor 5:17). BIBLE VERSE OF THE WEEK: “I will sprinkle clean water upon you, and you shall be clean …. A new heart I will give you, and a new spirit I will put within you” (Ezek 36:25-26). OUR CATHOLIC APPEAL 2020: Many thanks to those who have made their pledges. If you have not, please, call the office to mail you an Appeal envelope (321-725-3066) or kindly use the online donation option on our website: ourladyofgracechurch.com. We need you! God bless you.

Our parish goal for 2020 is $102,026. Once we achieve our

goal, 2/3 of the additional funds will be returned to the parish with the other third supporting the priest retirement fund. These funds can then help us sup-port our needs such as new roofs on SVDP and the white house, updating narthex bathrooms, and other future needs. These additional funds will not cover all of these costs, but will help in some ways.

Blessed Be God! Who Calls You By Name!

Holy and Chosen One! Please keep in prayer the “Elect” who were called to the Easter Sacraments by Bishop John Noonan at the Rite of Election on the First Sunday of Lent. They will celebrate Baptism, Confirmation, and Holy Communion at the Easter Vigil.

Have you heard the words Easter Triduum and wonder what it really means? The summit of the Liturgical Year is the Easter Triduum—from the evening of Holy Thursday to the evening of Easter Sunday. Though chronologically three days, they are liturgically one day unfolding for us the unity of Christ's Paschal Mystery. The single celebration of the Triduum marks the end of the Lenten season, and leads to the Mass of the Resurrection of the Lord at the Easter Vigil. The liturgical services that take place during the Triduum are:

• Mass of the Lord's Supper—Thursday, April 9 7:00 PM • Good Friday of the Lord's Passion—Friday, April 10 3:00 PM • Mass of the Resurrection of the Lord—Saturday, April 11 8:30 PM ¿Has escuchado las palabras Triduo Pascual y te preguntas qué significa realmente?

Saint Francis of Paola; 27 March 1416 – 2 April 1507) was an Italian mendicant friar and the founder of the Roman Catholic Order of Minims. Unlike the majority of founders of men's religious orders, and like his patron saint, Francis was never ordained a priest. Pope Leo X canonized him in 1519. He is considered to be a patron saint of boatmen, mariners and naval officers. His liturgical

feast day is celebrated by the universal Church on April 2nd, the day on which he died. In 1963, Pope John XXIII designated him as the patron saint of Calabria. Though his miracles were numerous, he was canonized for his humility and discernment in blending the contemplative life with the active one.

DiscipleshipCorner We are off to a good start for our appeal this year. If you have made your pledge already we thank you for your generosity. If you have not we ask you to do it now. We have a share that we must meet, so we ask that you pray about it and make that pledge today. GIVE GLORY TO GOD On the Fifth Sunday of Lent, just before we begin to enter Holy Week, we are summoned to Bethany. If we had been friends of Mary, Lazarus, and Martha, and found out that Lazarus was gravely ill, we probably would have dropped everything to be with them. This was what was so surprising about the behavior of Jesus. Although he was their close friend, he chose to stay away, that God’s glory would be manifested. This is a persistent theme in John’s Gospel. Right to the very end, Jesus’ works were meant to give glory to the Father. As our Lenten journey reaches a crescendo, let us be mindful that, as people who have “put on Christ” in baptism, we are also called, by our attitudes and actions, to give glory to God.
