Preparing to Come to the Table December 2 8:30AM—3:00 PM As we begin the Year of the Eucharist and Advent our theme will be centered around preparing our hearts for the Lord especially every time we come to the Eucharistic table. The English speakers will be Deacon Chris Meehan from Ascension Catholic Church and Gary Hessen from St. Joseph Catholic Church. There will also be an opportunity to go to con-fession. Monetary donations and gift certificates can be brought to the church office or placed in the SVDP poor box. Please keep in mind the deadline for donations is December 10. Air Conditioning Units Update The new unit for the offices has been replaced. The staff is enjoying the cool air!! The plan as of now is for the Servite Community hall units to be replaced in December. This will take approximately a month, so please bear with us if the rooms are warm. We never can predict what kind of temperatures there will be in December. Once it is completed we should all be nice and cool!

The Year of the Eucharist Pope Francis has declared the upcoming liturgical year the “Year of the Eucharist” and Bishop John Noonan has asked all parishes to embrace this theme with a variety of events in our parish. It will also be the Diocese of Orlando’s 50th Anniversary in 2018, so there will be much to celebrate. CHRIST, KING OF ALL On this, the final Sunday of the liturgical year, we celebrate the solemnity of Christ the King. By conclud-ing the year with this feast we are proclaiming our faith that Jesus Christ is the one and only king over all sea-sons, all peoples, and all of creation. At the end of time as we know it, Christ’s work of restoring all things to unity and harmony with their Crea-tor God will be completed. This Sunday, when we claim Christ as both our Shepherd and our King, we recognize our own calling to participate in Christ’s saving work by caring for those whom Jesus calls “the least ones” (Matthew 25:45). CRISTO, REY DE TODOS En este, el último domingo del año litúrgico, cele-bramos la solemnidad de Cristo Rey. Al concluir el año con esta fiesta proclamamos nuestra fe en que Jesucristo es el solo y único rey sobre todos los tiempos, todos los pueblos y toda la Creación. Al final del tiempo que conocemos, quedará comple-ta la obra de Cristo de restaurar todas las cosas en uni-dad y armonía con Dios su Creador. Este domingo, cuando proclamamos que Cristo es nuestro Pastor y nuestro Rey, reconocemos nuestro llamado a participar en la obra salvadora de Cristo al cuidar de quienes Cristo llama “aquellos más insignificantes” (Mateo 25:45).
