OUR LADY OF FATIMA JULY 21, 2019

San Lucas narra la escena de acogida del Señor por parte de María y Marta. La acogida tiene dos dimensiones distintas pero complementarias. Pero una tiene prioridad: la acogida de la persona y la palabra de Jesús. Si bien todo lo demás es importante, sólo una cosa es necesaria y mejor, la escucha del Maestro, sentarse a sus pies, darse a Él sin impacientarse, acogerle con la propia persona.

El Señor pasa de cerca y de lejos ante el ser humano. De cerca, cuando se tiene la capacidad de contemplarle y suplicarle que se detenga, que se deje atender con la propia persona y los bienes que se poseen. De lejos, cuando en medio de las preocupaciones para hospedarlo, el tiempo se va y su persona no fue atendida con la propia persona, pues se le pueden dar muchas cosas, pero Él viene en busca de un trato personal con cada uno. Su estilo de relación es de tú a tú, de persona a persona. María supo adivinar la intención de Jesús, por eso su elección nadie se la podrá quitar.

¿Qué quiere decir Jesús con esta afirmación: “una sola cosa es necesaria”? ¿Cuál es la “mejor parte” que María escogió y que no le será quitada?

Señor Jesús, te pido que me des la pasión de escucharte. Podré irradiarte y darte a las almas solo si permanezco en contacto con tu fuente divina. Amado Maestro, concédeme, te lo ruego, la plena comunión contigo, para ir, como tú, a cumplir la voluntad del Padre. Amén.

La Gracia Gracia es palabra que denota la belleza, la bondad, el encanto, el reconocimiento (la lengua española tiene una palabra bellísima: ¡gracias!). Para la fe cristina la gracia encierra todos estos significados y mucho más: designa el amor que el Señor manifiesta por todos los hombres. Tal amor culmina en el don que Dios hace de su propio Hijo Jesucristo, el cual se hace hombre para que los hombres lleguen a ser hijos de Dios y herederos de sus bienes, llamados a habitar en su misma casa, el Paraíso. La gracia, esto es, la vida divina en nosotros, es ofrecida por Dios generosamente, no se niega nunca a nuestras oraciones, y en la justa medida nos socorre en nuestras necesidades. Los hombres tienen un solo deber: el de acogerla. Aun cuando pueda parecer increíble, a menudo el hombre no acepta este don maravilloso del amor de Dios. Pero Dios insiste y nos repite a cada uno de nosotros como al Pueblo de Israel: "Abre la boca, que te la llene" (Sal 81, 11). Ábrela, pues, de otro modo continuarás vagando por el desierto, en la estepa, y serás infeliz. San Agustín, que había experimentado la soledad de quien está alejado de Dios, ha podido pronunciar aquellas famosas palabras: "Mi corazón está inquietud, Señor, hasta que descanse en ti".

Saint Luke tells the scene of welcome of the Lord by Mary and Martha. The reception has two distinct but complementary dimensions. But one has priority: the reception of the person and the word of Jesus. While everything else is important, only one thing is necessary and better, listening to the Master, sitting at his feet, giving himself to Him without getting impatient, welcoming him with his own person.

The Lord passes from near and far before the human being. Up close, when you have the ability to contemplate and beg him to stop, let him deal with his own person and the assets they own. From afar, when in the midst of concerns to host him, time goes by and his person was not taken care of with his own person, because he can be given many things, but He comes in search of a personal deal with each one. Your relationship style is one on one, from person to person. Mary knew how to guess Jesus' intention, that's why her choice can not be taken away from her.

What does Jesus mean by this statement: "only one thing is necessary"? What is the "best part" that Mary chose and that will not be taken away from her?

Lord Jesus, I ask you to give me the passion to listen to you. I will be able to radiate and give to the souls only if I remain in contact with your divine source. Beloved Master, grant me, I beg you, full communion with you, to go, like you, to fulfill the will of the Father. Amen.

Grace Grace is a word that denotes beauty, kindness, charm, recognition (the Spanish language has a beautiful word: thank you!). For the Christian faith, grace contains all these meanings and much more: it designates the love that the Lord manifests for all men. Such love culminates in the gift that God makes of his own Son, Jesus Christ, who becomes man so that men may become children of God and heirs of his goods, called to live in his own house, Paradise. Grace, that is, the divine life in us, is generously offered by God, never refuses our prayers, and in the right measure helps us in our needs. Men have only one duty: to welcome it. Even though it may seem incredible, man often does not accept this wonderful gift of God's love. But God insists and repeats each of us as the People of Israel: "Open your mouth, let it fill you" (Ps 81, 11). Open it, then, otherwise you will continue to wander through the desert, in the steppe, and you will be unhappy. St. Augustine, who had experienced the loneliness of one who is estranged from God, has been able to pronounce those famous words: "My heart is restless, Lord, until it rests in you."

Our parents gave us the natural life of the body, but God gives us the soul and also destines us to a supernatural life; we are born deprived of it by original sin, inherited from Adam. Baptism erases original sin, gives us faith and divine life, and makes us children of God. The Holy Trinity takes possession of the soul and begins to sanctify us. According to the Lord's plan of love, baptism is necessary for salvation. What is baptism? It is the sacrament by which we are reborn to the divine life and become children of God. Why is baptism the first of the sacraments? It is the first of the sacraments because it is the door that opens access to the other sacraments, and without it you can not receive any other. What effects does baptism produce? The effects produced by baptism are: forgive the original sin, and any other sin, with the penalties due for them. We are given the three divine persons together with the sanctifying grace. It infuses the sanctifying grace, the supernatural virtues and the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Print in the soul the sacramental character that makes us Christians forever. It incorporates us into the Church. Is baptism necessary for salvation? According to the Lord's plan, baptism is necessary for salvation, as is the Church itself, to which she introduces baptism. Who can baptize? Nuestros padres nos dieron la vida natural del cuerpo, pero Dios nos da el alma y nos destina, además, a una vida sobrenatural; nacemos privados de ella por el pecado original, heredado de Adán. El bautismo borra el pecado original, nos da la fe y la vida divina, y nos hace hijos de Dios. La Santísima Trinidad toma posesión del alma y comienza a santificarnos. Según el plan de amor del Señor, el bautismo es necesario para la salvación. ¿Qué es el bautismo? Es el sacramento por el que renacemos a la vida divina y somos hechos hijos de Dios. ¿Por qué el bautismo es el primero de los sacramentos? Es el primero de los sacramentos porque es la puerta que abre el acceso a los demás sacramentos, y sin el no se puede recibir ningún otro. ¿Qué efectos produce el bautismo? Los efectos que produce el bautismo son: perdona el pecado original, y cualquier otro pecado, con las penas debidas por ellas. Se nos dan las tres divinas personas junto con la gracia santificante. Infunde la gracia santificante, las virtudes sobrenaturales y los dones del Espíritu Santo. Imprime en el alma el carácter sacramental que nos hace cristianos para siempre. Nos incorpora a la Iglesia. ¿El bautismo es necesario para la salvación? Según el plan del Señor, el bautismo es necesario para la salvación, como lo es la Iglesia misma, a la que introduce el bautismo. ¿Quién puede bautizar? Ordinariamente puede bautizar el obispo, el sacerdote y el Diácono, pero en caso de necesidad puede hacerlo cualquier persona que tenga intención de hacer lo que hace la Iglesia. ¿Cómo se bautiza? Se bautiza derramando agua sobre la cabeza y diciendo: "Yo te Bautizo en el nombre del Padre, del Hijo y del Espíritu Santo". ¿Qué es el Catecumenado? Es la preparación que deben recibir aquellos que van a bautizarse habiendo alcanzado el uso de la razón.
