INFANT BAPTISMS For children under 7 years of age, the sacrament is celebrated the FIRST Sunday of the month at 2:00 pm. The parents must register in the parish office at least 4 weeks prior to the baptism. Both parents and godparents are expected to attend one catechetical session in advance, on the Wednesday before the baptism, at 7:00 pm.

SACRAMENTS OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION Before being fully initiated into the sacramental life of the Church, children over the age of 7 will need catechetical prepa-ration through the RCIC process. Teenagers and adults will par-ticipate in separate RCIA processes. CONFIRMATION and COMMUNION For those already baptized, preparation for these Sacraments will take place according to the person’s age and knowledge of the Catholic Faith. For further information contact the Office of Faith Formation Program.

MARRIAGES Couples should contact the parish office at least six months in advance to make the proper ar rangements for the Sacrament of Matrimony.

PRO-LIFE CORNER - The question is not "When can a baby live outside the womb?" - the question is "When can a baby be allowed to live inside the womb?"

FROM THE PASTOR’S DESK Dear Parishioners, In five days we will begin March. Two weeks from now, it will be the first Sunday of Lent. Fifty six days from now, Lent will be over and it will be Easter Sunday. The readings this Sunday, make me feel like we are in preseason. In sports, the preseason refers to that time when teams warm up. They play games that do not officially count but serve as training exercises for the official season of competition. This Sunday’s gospel reading is about forgiveness. Jesus holds up to us the standard of being children of God. Like a good coach, Jesus is preparing us to have the best season possi-ble. As church during Lent, we will focus on facing sin in our lives and in our time. With the power of God’s mercy and love, we can reach the goals that God has meant for us to reach as part of his team. Get ready to play ball but remember the powers of darkness are not playing games. As we anticipate becoming better disciples of Christ in Lent, I want to sincerely thank all our pa-rishioners whose charity made it possible for our parish not only to reach the goal set for our parish by the Diocese in the Annual Catholic Appeal 2018 but made it possible for us to go beyond it. Your charitable giving not only helps the services of the Diocese to continue in Brooklyn and Queens but it also helps our parish to make ends meet. Now I love to say thank you and to celebrate your good work. As you know, however, the bills keep coming. We continue to do our best to manage the ex-penses for this year. I ask that you please keep the help coming not only for Annual Catholic Appeal but please don’t forget the Generations in Faith campaign which is in its third year of five years. We have the call to be our brother’s keeper and also to be good stewards, that is keepers of God’s house. Thank you for all you do and let’s keep running the race for victory.

DEL ESCRITORIO DEL PÁRROCO Queridos Feligreses:

Comenzaremos marzo en cinco días . Dentro de dos semanas, será el primer domingo de Cuaresma. Dentro de cincuenta y seis días, la Cuaresma habrá terminado y será el domingo de Pascua. Las lec-turas de este domingo, me hacen sentir como que estamos en pretemporada. En los deportes, la pretemporada se refiere a la época en que los equipos se calientan. Juegan juegos amistosos que no cuentan oficialmente, sino que sirven como ejercicios de entrenamiento para la temporada oficial de la competencia. La lectura del evangelio de este domingo es sobre el perdón. Jesús nos sostiene el estándar de ser hijos de Dios. Como un buen entrenador, Jesús nos está preparando para tener la mejor temporada posible. Como iglesia durante la Cuaresma, nos enfocaremos en enfrentar el pecado en nuestras vidas y en nuestro tiempo. Con el poder de la misericordia y el amor de Dios, podemos al-canzar las metas que Dios ha querido que alcancemos como parte de su equipo. Prepárate para jugar pelota, pero recuerda que los poderes de la oscuridad no son juegos. Mientras anticipamos ser mejores discípulos de Cristo en la Cuaresma, quiero agradecer sincera-mente a todos nuestros feligreses cuya caridad hizo posible que nuestra parroquia no solo alcance la meta establecida para nuestra parroquia por la Diócesis en la Campaña Católica Annual 2018, sino que también hizo posible que sobre pasaramos la meta. Sus donaciones caritativas no solo ayudan a los servicios de la Diócesis a continuar en Brooklyn y Queens, sino que también ayudan a nuestra par-roquia a sobrevivir. Ahora me encanta decir gracias y celebrar su buen trabajo. Como ustedes saben, sin embargo, las facturas siguen llegando.
