INFANT BAPTISMS For children under 7 years of age, the sacrament is celebrated the FIRST Sunday of the month at 2:00 pm. The parents must register in the parish office at least 4 weeks prior to the baptism. Both parents and godparents are expected to attend one catechetical session in advance, on the Wednesday before the baptism, at 7:00 pm.

SACRAMENTS OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION Before being fully initiated into the sacramental life of the Church, children over the age of 7 will need catechetical prepa-ration through the RCIC process. Teenagers and adults will par-ticipate in separate RCIA processes. CONFIRMATION and COMMUNION For those already baptized, preparation for these Sacraments will take place according to the person’s age and knowledge of the Catholic Faith. For further information contact the Office of Faith Formation Program.

MARRIAGES Couples should contact the parish office at least six months in advance to make the proper ar rangements for the Sacrament of Matrimony.

6:00 PM Procesión con la Virgen, seguida de la Santa Misa a las 7:00 PM.

Despues de la Santa Misa hay una recepción en el Salon Donnelly en la escuela.

Our parish invites you to the feast in honor of the Virgin of Guadalupe, which will be held on: Tuesday, December 11, .starting at 9:30 PM with procession,

a Vigil and at midnight a celebration of Holy Mass. Accompanied with Mariachis who will sing to the Virgin the "Mañanitas".

Wednesday, December 12 at 5:00 PM Holy Rosary, 5:30 PM arrival of the Guadalupana torch,

6:00 PM procession followed by a Mass at 7:00 PM.

After the ceremony everyone is invited to a reception at the Donnelly Hall in the school.

FROM THE PASTOR’S DESK

Dear Parishioners, We light the second candle on the Advent Wreath to signal that we have begun our second week of Advent. We have another week and another opportunity to prepare and respond to the on-going and dynamic presence of God in our lives. The Mother of God is a perfect example of how to prepare for God’s coming into our lives. Saturday of this weekend, December 8th, the church contemplates Mary under the title of the Immaculate Conception. Each title of Mary helps us to reflect on the ways that Mary followed Jesus and was his perfect disciple and a model for the Church. In the Immaculate Conception we reflect and praise God because Mary was conceived in the womb of her Mother, St. Ann, free from the stain of original sin. This grace was given her in preparation for her to respond to the call to be the Mother of Jesus, the Son of God. Mary responded yes to that call because she responded yes to being im-maculate, that is without sin in her life. This motivates us to say no to sin and to answer God’s call more fervently. Other titles of Mary show us how God’s coming to us in our lives is of timeless importance. Mary not only cooperated with God’s redemption while she was living her earthly life but also as the Queen of Saints, she continues to cooperate with God in his work of redemption of souls through the ages. The Paraguayan Group in our parish prayed a Novena to the Virgin of Caacupé since Novem-ber 29th and on Saturday night, December 8th, celebrate with dancers and music. The Blessed Mother appeared to a Guarani Indian, Jose, in 1600 and protected him from Mbayá Indians in the woods. He sculpted the statue of her and it has been associated to many miracles. In 1531, Mary appeared to St. Juan Diego in Guadalupe, Mexico. She showed herself dressed in native garments that she was a Queen and had a maternity belt indicating she was with child. She asked for a church to be built in her honor on the site. The Guadalupe Group will be running with a touch from St. Jo-seph’s Co-Cathedral to our church this Wednesday, December 12th as well as celebrating Masses on 12/11 and 12/12. Mary, our Mother continues to be an example of following Jesus in different countries and in dif-ferent times. Let us pray also as a parish to Our Lady of Fatima to help us to imitate her love of God more during this Advent Season.

DEL ESCRITORIO DEL PÁRROCO

Queridos Feligreses:

Encendemos la segunda vela en la Corona de Adviento para indicar que hemos comen-zado nuestra segunda semana de Adviento. Tenemos otra semana y otra oportunidad para preparar y responder a la presencia continua y dinámica de Dios en nuestras vidas. La Ma-dre de Dios es un ejemplo perfecto de cómo prepararse para la venida de Dios a nuestras vidas. El sábado de este fin de semana, 8 de diciembre, la iglesia contempla a María bajo el título de la Inmaculada Concepción. Cada título de María nos ayuda a reflexionar sobre las formas en que María siguió a Jesús y fue su discípulo perfecto y un modelo para la Iglesia. En la Inmaculada Concepción reflexionamos y alabamos a Dios porque María fue con-cebida en el vientre de su Madre, Santa Ana, libre de la mancha del pecado original. Esta gracia le fue dada en preparación para que ella respondiera al llamado de ser la Madre de Jesús, el Hijo de Dios. María respondió que sí a esa llamada porque respondió que sí a ser inmaculada, eso es sin pecado en su vida. Esto nos motiva a decir no al pecado y responder con más fervor a la llamada de Dios. Otros títulos de María nos muestran cómo el hecho de que Dios venga a nosotros en nuestras vidas es de importancia atemporal. María no solo cooperó con la redención de Di-os mientras vivía su vida terrenal, sino que también como Reina de los Santos, continúa cooperando con Dios en su obra de redención de las almas a través de los siglos. El grupo paraguayo de nuestra parroquia rezó una Novena a la Virgen de Caacupé desde el 29 de noviembre y el sábado 8 de diciembre por la noche, celebrando con bailarines y música. La Santísima Madre se apareció a un indio guaraní, José, en 1600 y lo protegió de los indios Mbayá en el bosque. Él escultura de la estatua de ella ha sido asociada a muchos milagros. En 1531, María se apareció a San Juan Diego en Guadalupe, México. Se mostró vestida con prendas nativas que era una reina y tenía un cinturón de maternidad que indicaba que es-taba embarazada. Please share the Christmas Spirit by removing an ornament from the Giving Tree and then purchasing a clothing gift or toy for that age child. Use the same ornament from the gift and return it to the gift box under the tree or to the Rectory before Friday, December 15th. Use el mismo ornamento del arbol para el regalo y depositelo en la caja debajo del árbol o si no lleve el regalo directamente a la rectoria antes del 15 de diciembre. Estos regalos son para aproximadamente 300 niños de familias de pocos recursos que vendrán a la despensa a recoger el Mercado el 16 de diciembre.
