YOUTH CORNER: On December 21, the youth group will visit and serve at Nazareth Hall. They will have games and have a with the elderly, they ask for your prayers. If you any have reli-gious images that you would like to donate, we will gra-ciously accept them The Youth of Our Lady of Assumption begin their activi-ties of community service to the needy beginning 12/14/2019 to 12/22/2019. They will be collecting items to help two nursing homes in our sister city the Asylum of San Antonio and the Shelter the Elderly in Need. In advance we want to thank you for the great support the community gives to our Youth Group and help with their spiritual growth day after day. We ask for continued prayers for the end of this year full of many blessings.

ESQUINA JUVENIL: El 21 de Diciembre los jovenes visitaran y prestaran ser-vicio en el Asilo de Nazareth (Hall). Ellos tendran juegos y convivencia para los ancianitos y piden de sus oracio-nes y si tiene imagenes religiosas que gusten regalar con gusto las aceptamos. Los Jovenes de Nuestra Señora de Asuncion dan co-mienso a sus Actividades de Servicio al necesitado ini-ciando el 12/14/2019 al 12/22/2019. Ellos estaran co-llectando para poder ayudar a dos asilos de ancianos en nuestra ciudad hermana el Asilo de San Antonio y el Albergue al Anciano Necesitado. De antemano queremos agradecer el gran apoyo que dan a nuestro grupo de Jovenes y por la ayuda a su crecimiento espiritual día tras dia. Pedimos mucho de sus oraciones por el fin de este año lleno de muchas bendiciones.

TRUST IN GOD On this final Sunday of Advent our scriptures focus on the historical birth of Jesus, who is son of David and Son of God, child and king, Jesus and Emmanuel. Isaiah the prophet begs Ahaz to ask for a sign, to allow God to offer him reassurance of the survival of the Da-vidic dynasty. The king hypocritically refuses to “tempt the LORD” in that way (Isaiah 7:12), but the prophet fore-tells the birth of a son, an heir to the throne, who will prove the Lord’s enduring protection of God’s chosen lineage on the throne of David. The child will be called Emmanuel. Matthew’s reference to this history in his description of the birth of Jesus highlights the contrast between the faithless refusal of trust shown by Ahaz, and the complete trust in God shown by Mary and Joseph in bringing about the birth of Jesus Christ. CONFIANZA EN DIOS En este último domingo de Adviento las lecturas se enfocan en el nacimiento histórico de Jesús: el hijo de David e Hijo de Dios, niño y rey, Jesús y Emmanuel. El profeta Isaías le suplica a Ajaz que pida una señal, para permitir a Dios que le asegure la sobrevivencia de la dinastía de David. El rey hipócrita rehúsa “tentar al SE-ÑOR” de esa manera (Isaías 7:12), pero el profeta predice el nacimiento de un hijo, un heredero al trono, quien pro-bará la duradera protección divina del linaje elegido del trono de David. El niño será llamado Emmanuel. Mateo se refiere a esta historia en su descripción de los puntos principales del nacimiento de Jesús que con-trasta a Ajaz quien rehúsa confiar por falta de fe, y la completa confianza en Dios que María y José demos-traron al cooperar con el nacimiento de Jesucristo.
