Our project is mainly about John Peter Zenger. He was arrested and put in jail for talking against the British government, who was in charge of America at the time. Though what he said was true, it was a put down to the British government. He was put on a high bail of £800. he argued his case that he had freedom of speech and the court ruled in his favor.

John F Tinker(15 year old) and his sister Mary Beth Tinker(13 year old) and their friends wanted to wear black arm bands with peace symbol to their. To protest the Vietnam War. The school board heard of what they were doing and pass a policy banning the wearing of arm bands to school. John F Tinker and his sister Mary Beth Tinker violated this policy and therefore were suspended. John F Tinker brought the school board case to the supreme court. John Tinker brought the fist amendment. They argue the decision, if the first amendment applied to school. The supreme court decide that the freedom of speech applied to school. The supreme court have decided that John Tinker won the case.
