We owned a brick-n-mortar store and an online store. We have made five figures a month working from home, just a couple of hours a day. We live an impressive, debt-free lifestyle, setting our own schedule and enjoying life on our terms.

Because of a tough upbringing by a disorganized and abusive step-father who spent his life looking and analyzing business ideas instead of taking action, I tried to really think through and organize our family’s life. Perhaps it was because he felt like he was doing something by looking. We found strength in taking strategic

action, making procrastination and hesitation the enemy. I learned that lesson in the Marines :) Part of that process was and continues to be documenting what we learned in life to leave a legacy for our children! WHY ARE WE SELLING? Funny story actually. My wife and I have run our craft website for two decades. I never graduated from college but I have done well - made a great deal of mistakes, but have figured it out. I always tell the kids, figure it out! But as they neared the college age and showed interest in wanting a college degree, I pointed out that it was a “want”. Now many of you may disagree with this but I am okay with that. I told them wants have to be paid for and my money is not their money. The more I pushed the bigger the no became. We did not see that coming and that is okay, they did figure it out. But I think they were less attracted to running a website having grown up around it. They had to sort material, help adding spreadsheet products and images if they wanted to earn money, so they did the boring stuff. Most of

that has been automated out of the process, but I get it. And Marine Corps father did not allow for many opportunities to say no…

Before we listed this store for sale, we researched other websites for sale and those garbage “gurus” that sell internet boxy companies, blogs and training material. Two words, gross incompetence! We were amazed to find people pretending to be pure experts who are not even online today making money! And we found NO EXCEPTION!

There is a strategy to success online. “Easy” store creators can give you a store, but not the strategy. Free site builders such as Shopify, Godaddy, Squarespace, and Wix appear to hype up the American Dream to sell subscriptions. Same with those books that call the reader a “dummy”. People are simply not comfortable with the up and down healthcare reform and they are opting to “self-healthicate”.

We made $30,000 a month with our site. Your goal should be to do the same (or more) by the second month of ownership. MYTHS YOU MUST AVOID: 1) Hard to compete. We have been “competing” online with our site for over two decades. 99% of your competition are tactical

executives, they work off of todo lists. 0.8% are strategic thinkers, great ideas, but hard for them to implement tactical part. 0.02% are strategic and tactical - big ideas and implements with piercing effectiveness. We are the 0.02% and will train you to think and execute like that. Competition is not a concern, I cannot overstate the importance of this paragraph!

2) Need money. We will show you how to generate a great deal of traffic for FREE. That is where you should start. Social networking also offers a great deal of traffic for free. We will walk you through all the various options to help you meet your specific monthly income goals.

3) Prices matter. If you compete based on price, you will fail. You cannot succeed racing to the bottom on prices. With our approach selling $500 in product, yields $250 in net profit. This policy has stood the test of time and still does even today!

4) Content/blog necessary. Fulfilling a need of people who want to buy product is your focus, that is how you make money. Content later. Most customers prefer a site without blogs, message-boards, chat, pop-up windows, etc. Content may be king, but it needs to be king outside of the pure shopping experience. Keep that clean and good-paying customers will return.

6) Wait and see. My abusive step-father looked at businesses all his life. He never made any decisions and remained unsuccessful and miserable. He allowed fear to keep him looking at businesses instead of actually taking action.

7) Learning phase. You can never learn everything you need to learn. You can waste a lifetime using this excuse, I grew up with it first hand.

8) More than one supplier is good. In all these years, we have learned that more than one supplier is a recipe for failure. You can easily incur multiple shipping charges and delays if you choose that path. While it is an option, we recommend against it.

9) Must be generating money now. A store making $20,000 a month profit will sell for around $720,000.00. You can generate that kind of money in 1-2 months of ownership with this website by following our instructions and following through!

10) Too good to be true. We live the too good to be true lifestyle and we created it! If you doubt us or our procedure, then perhaps it is not for your family.

11) Paid Facebook or social network is a must. We have been online before many social network were ever created. Ask yourself, why do they provide such wonderful free services? Because they harvest data. As private people, we protect our data. Social networking is chrome to add to an already powerful machine (you should never try to make it the machine). While you can use social networking, we have made most of our money with zero social networking.

12) Easier ways. There are a host of easy get-rich-quick schemes everywhere. There is nothing online that compares to a stable, retail storefront.

13) Niche market…That is a going theme out there right now and some people think that means you need only a handful of products. Having a great selection of products is key to lots of revenue. Picking a focus and marketing only that focus is what most people should mean as a niche!

14) Reports, analytics, conversion ratios, how many return customers…The only thing that matters is what our goals are, what am I making, and how do I reach those goals. The rest is clutter and we don’t waste time on clutter.
