2 REASONS WHY CONV ICTS CAME TO NEW HOLL AND/NEW SOUTH WALES
1. The first reason why convicts came to New Holland/New South Wales is because all the prisons in England were overflowing with convicts, so England sent many to Botany Bay and Port Arthur.2. England thought it was a new beginning for all the convicts.

Name: John SmithAge: 23Occupation: UnknownJohn Smith Was tried at Exeter, Devon On the 14th of March 1785 for assault and highway robbery. He was sentenced to transportation for 7 years, and left England on the Charlotte at the age of 23.
