Leveraging a 70+ year legacy of power generation in Canada, ATCO has been providing gas-fired power generation in Australia for over 20 years.

Experienced in building, owning and operating pipeline infrastructure globally, ATCO has successfully managed, developed and expanded the Western Australian natural gas distribution network since 2011, and has the capability and know-how to expand into solutions delivery across gas transmission, storage and processing.

ATCO is a global leader in providing modular solutions to the community, from regional mining developments through to urban infrastructure developments, and provides a diverse range of services and products throughout various markets in Australia.

Our focus is on identifying innovative energy solutions for our customers that not only lower emissions, but lower costs as well. This is why we are investing heavily in research and development in renewable and emerging technologies.

GAS DISTRIBUTION The company serves Kalgoorlie, Geraldton, Bunbury, Busselton, Harvey, Pinjarra, Brunswick Junction, Capel and the Perth greater metropolitan area, including Mandurah and the Albany LPG network. ATCO’s network covers nearly 14,000 km of distribution mains across 750,000 residential and commercial connections.

ATCO is committed to identifying innovative energy solutions for our customers that lower costs and emissions. While natural gas already delivers a lower carbon footprint than other traditional sources of energy, we’re investing heavily in research

and development programs to identify how we can improve this performance even further.

Natural gas networks have an essential role to play in meeting Australia’s future energy needs in a safe, reliable and affordable manner and are an ideal complement to intermittent renewable energy like wind and solar.

Our skilled, experienced teams ensure the safe and consistent regulation and monitoring of our gas networks to provide uninterrupted delivery of natural gas to customers across the state.

ATCO’s Gas Division in Australia

owns, operates and maintains the

largest gas infrastructure network

in Western Australia.

Commissioned in 2010, the 86MW Karratha Power Station is one of the most efficient and environmentally friendly power generation facilities in the North West Interconnected System in the Pilbara. The facility generates electricity to supply residential and business consumers under a long-term power offtake contract with Horizon Power.

The 180MW Osborne Plant in South Australia is fuelled by natural gas from South Australia’s Cooper basin and is a 50:50 joint venture between ATCO’s Energy Division and Origin Energy. The plant’s design accommodates operating in both cogeneration and combined cycle modes.

facilities: the Osborne Facility in

South Australia and the Karratha

Power Plant in the north west of

Western Australia. These facilities

collectively generate 266 megawatts

of power, providing energy for

thousands of domestic, industrial

and commercial customers.

Our extensive Australian footprint, incorporates our recently commissioned world class manufacturing base on the Gold Coast as well as infrastructure in Townsville, Mackay, Gladstone, Brisbane, Newcastle, Sydney, Melbourne and Perth. We have experienced people and the resources to meet the needs of a diverse customer base and the ability to customise building design to suit specific project requirements.

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

One way our people give back is through our fundraising program, ATCO EPIC (Employees Participating in Communities). The program combines fundraising events, auctions, friendly team competitions and employee pledges that support more than 800 charities around the world.

Since its inception in 2006, we have raised more than $38 million globally for charitable organisations, while facilitating hundreds of thousands of employee volunteer hours.

ATCO has a long tradition of working with indigenous peoples in many countries and we are proud of the effective working relationships we have already established with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

ATCO’s inaugural Reconciliation Action Plan RAP formalises and outlines our existing strategic and practical commitments to reconciliation including development of a Six Seasons garden, employment practices and approach to supplier selection.

Our commitment to reconciliation in Australia reflects our company’s global philosophy of building and maintaining relationships that respect the unique cultural identify and history of Aboriginal peoples as well as contribute to sustainable communities and ongoing economic development.

operate, based on positive and sustainable relationships. Our community investment

framework ensures that every dollar we invest in local communities and projects can

deliver the best possible outcomes and make a positive impact on the community.

INNOVATION

As a customer focused organisation, ATCO is committed to identifying innovative energy solutions for our customers that lower costs and emissions. That’s why we are developing a world class Clean Energy Innovation Hub with the support of the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA).

Our customers have clearly told us that renewable energy solutions are important to them, which is why we acquired Source Energy Co. in 2018 to further expand our reach into this key and emerging market.

The work being undertaken by Source Energy Co is demonstrating the commercial viability of renewable energy solutions in shared occupancy buildings and is ATCO’s first foray into providing our customers with renewable supported, micro grid solutions.

The acquisition is part of ATCO’s commitment to improving the customer experience by optimising the use of innovative technologies and solutions and ensuring customers can make informed energy choices.
