Session 3- 9.00am-12.30pm | Topic: Behaviour Based Safety-

Singapore‘s Perspective

by Mr Ameerali Abdeali|National Safety Council of Singapore

Outline

Fostering a strong safety culture in a workplace is an imperative for good

and sustainable safety performance. The principal leader for safety in the

workplace is none other than the overall head of the company. Should

CEOs fail to see the connection between safety and good business

operations, they will ultimately pay a high price for this neglect. Accidents

will have an adverse impact on the company's business performance and if

the accidents are a common occurrence the viability of the company as a

business entity would be placed into doubt.

The presentation is intended to illustrate how a positive change in thinking

patterns can lead to higher outcomes in safety performance. It will cover

topics like understanding negative and positive safety mindsets, practicing

safety as a value, understanding what is safety culture and why it is

important to promote safety beyond the boundaries of the workplace.
