in Dibrugarh University. The Computer Centre was in a moribund state when I took

over as In-charge in 1994. I took the initiative of introducing a Six Month

Certificate Course in Computer Applications. An „O‟ level course was introduced with

the aid of Department of Electronics, Govt. of India in 1998. This course

received overwhelming response from the students. Independent establishment

of the Computer Centre was came into being in 2003-04. The computer Centre

was upgraded to Centre for Computer Studies in 2004. The NEC granted 30 computers

to the Centre for Computer Studies in 2004. With this infrastructure facilities

other courses and as MCA, BCA, B.Sc.(IT) , PGDCA were introduced. At

present the Centre for Computer Studies is equipped with about 100 Computers.

There are about 500 students in the Centre for Computer Studies pursuing
