A CHAIN IS NEVER STRONGER THAN ITS WEAKEST LINK.The CK is one of the most reliable fans you can get and an excellent choice even in complexduct systems. Quality, efficiency, reliability and low sound levels makes the CK a favouriteamongst contractors and installers. Every single CK is individually tested before it´s despatched.

High Capacity And ReliabilityIn-line centrifugal duct fan, type CK, is a straight-through radialfan. It is compact, with a high capacity and very easy to install.The CK fan can cope with high pressure and long duct runs,whilst still operating at an acceptable sound level. The fan speed can be controlled by voltage or frequency variationregulators. Several fans can be connected to the same controllerproviding the total nominal current of the fans does not exceed therating of the controller.The CK range of fans are moisture resistant and are approved forinstalling in humid or damp environments. The fans are ratedIP44 when installed in a duct system. They must not be used fortransporting grinding dust, soot or similar. The casing is manufac-tured from pre-galvanized steel. Automatic thermo-contacts openif the temperature within the motor windings becomes excessive.

CV/KVWall mounted fans CV and KV can be supplied with 12 different capacities, each size in five different configurations. The fans have a stable housing of pre-galvanized steel and are entirely maintenance free. They can be positioned quite freely and can therefore be used in a wide variety of applications. All the fans have ball bearing mounted external rotor type induction motors with radial backward curved impellers. The fans can be speed controlled by voltage variation and operate at an acceptable sound level. The wall fans are moisture resistant and are approved for installation in humid and damp environments.

DUCT CLAMPThe fan is connected to the duct using duct clamp MK. The clamp is made of pre-gal-vanized steel and is rubber-lined to seal the connection and absorb vibrations. Theclamp allows the fan to be easily removed for inspection and cleaning,Available in sizes Ø 100, 125, 160, 200, 250 and 315 mm.

BACK DRAUGHT SHUTTERFor fitting in circular ducts. Made of pre-galvanized steel with spring-loaded vanes ofaluminium, the RSK back draught shutter can be fitted in any position and is availablein the following diametres: Ø 100, 125, 160, 200, 250 and 315 mm.

MOUNTING BRACKETFor easy fitting of CK fans on walls orin ceilings, the MPM bracket is suitablefor all circular duct fans. The bracketmay be screwed or riveted to the fan.

LOUVRE SHUTTERSOur self-closing louvre shutters havea very low air flow resistance. Forexample; Resistance is 10 Pa at 4m/s air speed, 30 Pa at 6,5 m/s and50 Pa at 8,5 m/s.

ELECTRONIC THERMOSTAT For fitting to controller or direct to wall. On / off control of rising or falling tempera-ture. Sensitivity + 0,5ºC. Maximum loading 16 A/250 V or 10 A/380 V.Safety approved.

VRS, THYRISTOR CONTROLLER For manual variable speed control of single phase motors.Minimum speed is adjusted by means of a screw under theknob. The controller is certified and approved as conforming toelectrical safety and interference regulations on all markets.

Fans CK, CV, KV, LPK och RS from C.A. Östberg are all equipped with an asynchronous motorof external rotor type with sealed for lifetime ball bearings.Single phase motors are equipped with an approved thermo-contact protector with automaticreset. These must be connected over a motorprotector, or if speed control is used, over a thermo-contact relay, fitted as standard in our 3-phase transformers.The thermo-contact breaks the cur-rent if the temperature in the motor windings becomes excessive.In single-phase motors the thermo-contact is reset as follows: Turn off the mains power. Waituntil the motor has cooled. Reconnect the mains power.The fans are intended for continuous operation and can be controlled by voltage or frequencyvariation regulators. They are NOT designed for transporting explosive gases, grinding dust, sootor similar.

Electrical installationThe fan may only be installed by a qualified electrician. All fans are supplied fully wired and readyto fit in a sealed installation unit.1. Check that the voltage, frequency, cycles etc of the mains correspond to the specifications on

the fan’s ID plate.2. All electrical wiring and connections must be carried out in compliance with your national

safety regulations.3. The fan must be earthed!

Installation and fittingMaximum temperature of transported air, see diagrams.

Care and maintenanceThe only maintenance required is cleaning. We recommend inspection of the impeller every sixmonths if the fan is operated continuously. Before cleaning: Disconnect the mains and block themains switch. Wait until the motor and impeller has stopped rotating.Care must be taken during dismantling and cleaning so as not to disturb the fan’s balance. Strongdetergents or cleaning agents must not be used for cleaning the fan. Internal insulation may bewiped clean with a damp cloth. Sharp or rotating tools must not be used as these may damageouter surfaces.

In case of breakdown1. Check that mains power is reaching the fan.2. Disconnect from the mains and make sure the impeller is not blocked.3. Check the thermo-contact according to the description above. If the thermo-contact has acti-

vated, the cause of overheating should be determined to prevent the same fault reocurring.4. If the fault persists, change the capacitor.5. If these steps do not help, contact your supplier.
