Monitoring Observe and check the progress or
quality of (something) over a period of time; keep under systematic review.
Class monitor/prefect to help teacher to control the class
Set rules during the first meeting with the pupils
Cleanliness- duty rooster
Feedback Information about reactions to a
product, a person's performance of a task, etc., used as a basis for improvement.
When teacher asks questions, the pupils will raise their hands to answer it.
Monthly quiz Teacher can asks them to keep a
daily/weekly/monthly journal-activities
Managing Learner Location and Grouping
Sitting arrangement in class-based on pupils’ ability, e.g pupils who have disabilities like eye-sight problems should sit in front
Group-mix abilities-good pupils can teach others.
Types of Student Desk Arrangements and Seating Plans
There are several basic desk arrangements :
Stadium Seating (or Angled Rows with Desks Touching)
Modified U (or Horseshoe) Groups (or Teams) Combination (desks in various
positions)
Groups/Teams
Pros: Can save floor space even with many desks, supports cooperative work.
Pupils can see the black/white board and teacher can stand in one spot and see everyone’s face and work area.
Cons: Promotes off-task behavior, distracting for many students.
Combination Arrangements
Pros: Provides for each individual student’s needs; extremely flexible.
Cons: Requires special procedures for passing out and collecting papers/supplies.
