The Frost Place and CavanKerry Press will continue their partnership begun in2012 into 2015 CavanKerry is committed to educators of all levels and haspledged to continue to support their endeavors CavanKerry shows its supportby offering special book and package deals to educators underwriting ascholarship for a New Jersey Poetry Out Loud Teacher to The Conference onPoetry and Teaching and fulfilling its pledge to enhance The Frost Placesconference dedicated to educators

Founded in 2000 CavanKerry Press is a not-for-profit literary press dedicatedto art and community Based in New Jersey their mission is to expand thereach of poetry to a general readership by publishing poets whose worksexplore the emotional and psychological landscapes of everyday life To datethey have published 73 works from emerging and established writers and haveinitiated outreach efforts that include thousands of donated titles to numerousorganizations Poetry Heals workshops for medical personnel and apartnership with New Jersey Poetry Out Loud For more information visitwwwcavankerrypressorg

CavanKerryrsquos Publisher Joan Cusack Handler said ldquoWe are thrilled to continueour support of this scholarship to The Frost Place Conference on Poetry andTeaching We believe in supporting important community programs such asNew Jersey Poetry Out Loud We believe in supporting teachers Thisscholarship allows us to do both of those thingsrdquoThe scholarship is given annually to the teacher of the student winner of theNew Jersey Poetry Out Loud contest The teacher receives a full fellowship toattend The Frost Placersquos Conference on Poetry and Teaching which includeslodging and meals Poetry Out Loud is a national poetry recitation contestprogram supported by the National Endowment for the Arts and the PoetryFoundation It encourages the nations youth to learn about great poetrythrough memorization and recitation This program helps students masterpublic speaking skills build self-confidence and learn about their literaryheritage

In addition to the annual scholarship this year CavanKerry Press is offeringdiscounts on their titles specifically for teachers This is a great opportunity forteachers to have access to contemporary work to share with students in theirclassrooms
