Introduction

The CHALLENGER CRi Chipcard-Reader is an intrinsically safe RS232 Data Reading Device. It is approved and certified to be connected to GECMA Explorer and GECMA Challenger products. The Challenger variant has a blue and the Explorer variant a red front panel.

Design of the CHALLENGER CRi Chipcard Reader

The CHALLENGER Chipcard Reader may be connected only to external electricity supply units with the following maximum values:

Umax ≤ 12,5 V Imax ≤ 543 mA

Pmax ≤ 6,8 W

The enclosure must be earthed via the earth screw provided at the rear of the unit. The earth line must have a minimum cross section of 4mm².

Connection to the power supply and data link is done via terminal K1.
