Introduction

The CHALLENGER CRi Chipcard-Reader is an intrinsically safe RS232 Data Reading Device.

Design of the CHALLENGER CRi Chipcard Reader

The CHALLENGEr Chipcard Reader may be connected only to external electricity supply units with the following maximum values:

UUUUmax max max max ≤≤≤≤ 12,5 V 12,5 V 12,5 V 12,5 V

IIIImax max max max ≤≤≤≤ 543 mA 543 mA 543 mA 543 mA

PPPPmax max max max ≤≤≤≤ 6,8 W 6,8 W 6,8 W 6,8 W

The enclosure must be earthed via the earth screw provided at the rear of the unit. The earth line must have a minimum cross section of 4mm².

Connection to the power supply and data link is done via terminal K1.
