ShaftsPump shaft, intermediate and drive shafts are connected by sealed sleeve couplings.
Shaft SealingOn pumps in CD mounting arrangement, effected by the upper most shaft guide bearing as a result of throttling action in the bearing.Arrangement EB and/or EK has a packed gland.On CD pumps the sealing liquid is drained off via a small pipe located near the discharge elbow. On EB and/or EK pumps, whichare non flood--proof, the leakage liquid is drained off via a pipe through a bore hole in the discharge elbow into the inlet chamber.On the flood--proof arrangement, a leakage water drain is to be provided by the customer.
Shaft Guide BearingsProduct--lubricated plain bearings. The bearing bushes are flexibly located in a renewable bearing body, by a layer of rubber.The pumps are started up dry without any pre--lubrication. Permissable dry running period ± 15 s.
Shaft Protecting SleevesThe sleeve situated in the area of packed gland can be easily renewed without removing the shaft. The sleeve at the bearing ismade of wear--resistant silicon carbide and is also renewable.
Thrust BearingGrease--lubricated antifriction bearings. For bearing sizes see pages 23 to 74.Lubricant type : K2k to DIN 51 502.
DriveDrive via IEC standard motors with lateral cooling--air outlet. The direction of rotation of the pump is clockwise viewed from thedriver. A FLENDER N--EUPEX drive coupling is used with the hub of the pump--side half coupling specially adapted to the particularthrust bearing. The design of the drive stool ensures that there is no danger of accidental contact with the drive coupling.All the usual starting modes are permissible, however, bear in mind that star/delta starting is not always feasible depending uponthe system arrangement.

FoundationsMounting arrangement CD : Drive motor mounted on cast iron foundation blocks, concreted into position.Mounting arrangement EB and/or EK : The riser pipe is attached to a flat steel foundation ring with sealing action, or to foundationblocks, both of which are concreted into place. The foundation ring is held in place by anchor bolts. On the flood--proof (pressure--proof) version a seal ring is fitted between the mounting flange and the foundation ring.
Clear PassageThe pump must be protected against the entry of any large solid particles in the product by the installation of suitable dirt and shingletraps i.e. overflow sims, scum boards, rakes, etc. upstream of the pump (see page 3). Relevant experience and the clear passagegiven for various pump sizes (see table Technical Data -- page 12) should be taken into consideration at the design stage.
Performance CurvesThe NPSHreq curves relate to continuous operation with impeller materials as specified in the documentation.The heads and performance data are for a product with density ± = 1.0 kg/dm3 and a kinematic viscosity ↑ of up to 20 mm2/s max.
Inspection and TestingThe performance data are guaranteed without acceptance test as per ISO 2548, class C.Inspection testing and certification to ISO 3555, class B, 5 measuring points, is available at an extra charge.
GuaranteesKSB assumes guarantees within the frame work of its relevant conditions of supply.

TECHNICAL DATAThe given forces and moments are mean values for simultaneous loading in the three planes. If the forces and mo-ments in one particular direction are larger than given in the table, refer to us.
The values in the tables are not valid for the reaction forces of non--tensioned expansion joints.
On mounting arrangement CD the discharge pipe must be located in the axial direction. Maximum distance of thefixed point from the discharge nozzle : 4 m. An elbow support is also necessary if the discharge pipe has a flexibleextension piece. Maximum length of support : 4 m.
