How to Install Step by step. Step 1. Installing vQmod For information on installing vQmod please read the official website (available here) You need VQmod for earlier versions of OpenCart 1.5.1.3 - 1.5.5.1 to have OpenBay Pro, so follow the instructions above to install this. If you have OpenCart 2.0 OpenBay Pro is integrated already. Step 2. Using FTP to Upload the Module Most users should be familiar with FTP, you will have needed to upload your OpenCart store originally through FTP and your access details will be available from your hosting provider.

Download the OpenBay Pro Module (available here).

Extract the zip folder

Use an FTP program like FileZilla (available for Mac and PC). You will need your server address, username and password to access your hosting FTP directory.

Connect to your server and navigate to your OpenCart main directory (this contains your admin, catalog and system folders).

Drag the contents of everything inside the "upload" folder to the OpenCart directory in your FTP program.

Step 3: Setting Your Permissions & Install Now that your module files have been uploaded you will now need to modify the permissions for the administration user to install and setup the module.

Login to your OpenCart admin area.

Navigate to: System > Users > User Groups.

Click on the user that you want to modify (usually Top Administrator).

Tick the boxes that relate to OpenBay Pro in both Access Permissions and Modify Permissions.

Click Save.

Navigate to: Extensions > Modules (if you are using OpenCart 2.0 it is under Extensions > Feeds)

You will now see OpenBay Pro - click install.

After this you can find OpenBay Pro under Extensions > OpenBay Pro.

Step 4: Installing Your Marketplaces Set up is now completed and you can start adding your marketplaces To do this:

Go to Extensions > OpenBay Pro > Dashboard.

You can now see all 5 plugins listed, and the option to install each plugin.

Fulfillment by Amazon in OpenBay Pro 2016 we saw the new API being added within OpenBay Pro "Fulfillment by Amazon" (FBA) While we're currently only in Beta at the moment, we're working our way to a worldwide launch shortly and we're excited to be sharing this process with you. There are some key points with regards to FBA within OpenBay Pro that you will need to know. Firstly, this can be used as your Fulfillment provider regardless of which service you use. so, eBay, Etsy, Amazon itself, this is your one stop fulfillment pass. Important! In order for this to work, you’ll need to have everything set up within FBA account seller manager In OpenCart within "Location" Found by going to Catalog > Products> "product" > Data > Location. this will need to be showing as "FBA" all in caps. If this is in lowercase, it won't work, if this is filled in wrong, it's not going to work for you. As long as you have the Amazon SKU and within location have "FBA" you're golden, it's going to work! Please Note: At present, (16/06/2016) FBA is working as intended, you will need to ensure your FBA stock and your Amazon Stock is correct, as you’ll be sending requests to the FBA server, but it won’t be updating back within OpenCart, so, should any breakages, damaged goods or returns come in to play you’ll need to keep an eye on notifications within your Amazon Account regarding the changes so you can act accordingly to the stock levels.

Registering + Renewing Your Token

Every once in a while you’ll need to update and renew your token, this process is super straight forward

and you’ll be able to do so via the settings, we’ve broken this down for you below to Register for Amazon

and Renew for eBay.

Registering Your Token (Amazon) GIF Tutorial: http://i.imgur.com/xXTQPY5.gif

In your OpenCart admin go to Extensions > OpenBay Pro > eBay/Amazon > Settings

Click on the link below that says ‘Renew Your Token’

You will be taken to your OpenBay Pro accounts where you will need to enter your email, URL, secret word, marketplace (country) > Click ‘Continue’

Copy your token and keys into the matching boxes on your OpenCart store Renewing Your Token (eBay) GIF Tutorial: http://i.imgur.com/AvYPoq1.gif

eBay authorisation needs to be renewed every 12 months to continue using the API.

Renewing your API token will also re-activate your account if it is suspended.

In your OpenCart admin go to Extensions > OpenBay Pro > eBay/Amazon > Settings

Click on the link below that says ‘Renew Your Token’ and this will take to a form to enter your API token and secret word > Click Continue and this should be renewed.

Listings Once you’re set up, you have everything you need on OpenCart to start listing items on the selected marketplaces, which is great! Regardless of which marketplace the place to go is “Manage items”.

Down the right hand side of your products you’ll see the following: which should show all WHITE. Upon adding them to the marketplaces you’re signed up for, you should see this work by following the steps and completing pop ups that direct you to missing information. Ensuring you have all the details to hand will speed up this process. Once your item is listed, stock updates, orders and linked marketplace stocks will be updated depending on your subscription plan. Notifications Notifications for new orders and order updates are found within OpenCart’s notification system. These are the only notifications you will find within the system and should always be on the lookout for those new Marketplace orders to appear. New orders will only occur regardless of level of account, however, the import frequency when these channels are checked is what the subscription and services are for.

Orders We love eBay orders all orders in fact, here is how you can Import Orders for eBay. So that’s you covered, Should your Orders not be importing for Amazon? Before orders start to pour in, you’ll need to save your settings. (that nice Save icon in the top right) This allows and updates your API account and URL, allowing your order information to be sent over to your store. You will also see no Domain information when you login to your account on https://account.openbaypro.com - and view Amazon account information.

In your OpenCart admin menu go to: Extensions > OpenBay Pro > Amazon > Settings.

Under the “Orders tab” choose the marketplaces you wish to import from (This setting does not exist for Amazon US users).

Press save and your domain URL will now be configured and orders will start to import shortly. Etsy users, we’ve got you covered.

Orders are imported automatically; the frequency is determined by the plan you are subscribed to. You can request a small number of manual order imports per day, this is ideal for situations where you need to import an order quickly. To request a manual import, click the order poll button in the Etsy settings area of OpenBay Pro.

Page 12: OpenBay Pro Guide V1 - npssc.co.uk fileDownloading OpenBay Pro for OpenCart versions lower than 2.0 has never been simpler. ... Setting Your Permissions & Install ... and the option

OpenBay Pro – Guide V1.04

Orders will import based on the last modified time, not the creation time.

So if orders import every 5 minutes then the system will pull for orders modified within the last 5 minutes.

If there is an error connecting to Etsy.com the system will automatically fall back to the last time the orders were checked to ensure that data is never missed.

Orders older than when you first signed up for an account will not be imported, so if you have an order that was created before your signup but modified after (such as shipped, paid… etc.) this will not be imported to your store.

You can update an Etsy order directly from your OpenCart admin to paid or shipped after it has been imported.

You only need to manage an imported order exactly the same as a normal OpenCart order by changing the status of it.

On the menu, click the Orders link.

View the order you want to update

Go to the history tab

Choose the new order status (shipped / paid - or whichever status you have set in the Etsy admin area to match these statuses).

Click Add history. The change will now be uploaded to Etsy.

eBay Templates Now that you’re set up with orders and notifications, your eBay store now needs to look and highlight a few other items in your store. Templates are the way forward!

Adding a new template

Go to Extensions> OpenBay Pro> eBay> Dashboard.

Click the Add Template button on the top right.

entered your code click the save button on the top right.

Editing a template

Click the edit button next to any of the templates you want to edit.

You can change the name and / or the html code.

Once you have completed your changes press the save button. ** Updating a template does not change any of the templates that exist on listings already. The template changes will only show when you create a new listing using that template. **

Deleting a template

Click the delete button next to the template that you would like to remove. Removing a template will not affect any listings that already use it.

Using a template with a profile (default settings when creating a new listing)

Navigate to OpenBay Pro > eBay > Profiles Either edit or create a new “template & gallery” profile.

Under the template tab, choose the template that you would like to use for this profile.

The list will contain all of your templates that have been created in the templates area.

Press save. Now when you create a new listing with this profile it will set the theme for you automatically.

JavaScript in templates eBay does not like the use of JavaScript in its listings or other content that can load dynamic content such as iframes. More info can be found: http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/policies/listing-javascript.html Some URL links are allowed, however if you link to your own website where users can buy this is not allowed and will get your listing cancelled. Linking Products to Listings

Listing is a thing of the past, should you wish to promote your products, all you need to do is establish a link between the items. For example if you have items in your eBay store and your OpenCart store, then all you will need to do is establish a link between the items. Here is a handy GIF tutorial http://i.imgur.com/EfaN5C6.gif for linking eBay items in V2.0 How to:

In the menu go to "Extensions > OpenBay Pro" and click edit on the eBay module.

Click on the Link Items icon, when the page loads click Load items button on the top right.

The first tab will show your unlinked items that are currently listed on your eBay store. These are the items that need your attention the most and should be linked.

To create a link with items you just need to find the product using the autocomplete field, once it appears in the dropdown – click it and the rest of the local store data will be loaded for you.

Now, when you click save eBay will be updated with your store’s stock level and a link has been created between the listing and the product.

Important! If you are listing variant items (With modules like OpenStock installed (Version 1.5 and Version 2.0) then the names of your Options groups MUST be same as your Option group names on eBay. Your option values can be different though. For example: “If you have two options called Size and Colour on your OpenCart store and on eBay the Options for the item you are linking to are Chest size and colour - then these are not the same. You must rename the Option groups in your OpenCart store to match your eBay options groups. They are also case sensitive!” This issue is due to restrictions on the eBay API and is NOT a bug on our platform. eBay will not allow a product option group name to be added/removed.

Editing eBay Listings To edit Listings

Extensions > OpenBay Pro > Manage Items

Find the eBay listing you want to edit and click the green eBay icon. Here you can edit the price and if you have variations make the item inactive if you do not want that variation being listed on eBay. Once you have made the changes you can then save the listing. If you are wanting to edit the stock levels of the products which are listed, go to Catalog > Products and edit the product. Edit the items stock under the stock control tab and click save. This will update your listing if it is linked correctly to eBay.

vQmod OpenBay Pro and our other modules do require vQmod, and while this isn’t our product we have “borrowed” the documentation from OpenCart. While strictly modules, product feeds and OpenCart extensions should be standalone and modular, some require modifications to the OpenCart core. Modifying OpenCart core files greatly reduces your ability to upgrade your store to later versions, and can affect other modules and extensions. vQmod provides a mechanism by which modules requiring OpenCart core modifications can be installed without damaging the integrity of your core system for upgrades. vQmod keeps a list of filenames and changes required, in the form of one XML file per extension. These changes are then created as the core files are used, and the resulting files are stored as cached copies which are executed instead of the original, core PHP or TPL file.

Installing vQmod

If you wish to upgrade your store, or have a 3rd party extension that you have not used before, it is advisable that you use the vQmod system. The vQmod download and instructions for installation can be found here: https://github.com/vqmod/vqmod. Once you have downloaded the appropriate vQmod zip file provided in the link, you need to uncompress the zip file and FTP the vQmod folder to your site's root directory. From the Filezilla screenshot below, we can see the root directory of this store is located at public_html/opencart in the Remote site side. Uploading the vQmod folder here will make the vqmod folder visible in public_html/opencart.

vQmod advises you to set the permissions to writable for the vqmod/vqcache folders, index.php, and admin/index.php. In Filezilla you can right click on a file or folder, select "File Permissions...", and enter 755 or 777 in the "Numeric value" to set it to writable.

Page 17: OpenBay Pro Guide V1 - npssc.co.uk fileDownloading OpenBay Pro for OpenCart versions lower than 2.0 has never been simpler. ... Setting Your Permissions & Install ... and the option

OpenBay Pro – Guide V1.04

The next step in installing vQmod is to visit the install page in your store. Enter your store's location in your browser, then "vqmod/install" afterwards. If your store is located at "www.mystore.com", the vQmod install page would be located at: "www.mystore.com/vqmod/install". The following text will appear on the page if it was installed correctly: "VQMOD HAS BEEN INSTALLED ON YOUR SYSTEM!". Unlike the install folder after installing OpenCart, do not delete vQmod's install folder after the vQmod installation! vQmod advises that you load your homepage to see if it appears and works correctly after the install. You would also need to check your vqmod/vqcache folder to see if there are new vq files. Source: OpenCart: http://docs.opencart.com/administration/vqmod/

When you create a new listing a lot of information can be pre-set for you, information such as payment settings, shipping, returns and template settings. You can change any of the pre-set information before you list the item.

Vat and Tax Vat and Tax on goods, due to the nature of OpenBay Pro allowing you to put your goods on multiple Market-places, you may see your prices changed, this is due to the country origin of purchase. The best example would be this. Seller: Selling from Australia, the buyer is outside of Australia. (which may apply higher shipping, etc.) However, the Buyer won’t be paying the local VAT rate due to purchasing this from outside the country. EU sellers/buyers, should charge a flat rate of 20% Vat, this could be applied by incorporating the VAT to cover yourself should you be selling exclusively outside your country, but we can only advise to be aware of competition who may be local and offer a cheaper price. For a full list of countries of Tax rates, Wikipedia have the full list.

Listing Defaults Here is some more information on Listing details that may appear and settings.

Default listing duration: When you create a new listing this option will default the listing duration to this setting. Some categories may not have your setting option so you will need to set these manually. For example, if you set this to GTC (Good Till Cancelled), some categories do not have this option. The same is also true for some sellers who do not have an eBay shop.

Payment instructions: This is the payment instructions that you would normally type in next to your accepted payment methods in eBay. This text will rarely change so it’s good to have a solid payment instruction that can be reused over many listings. You can still edit this for each listing if required but it will default to this originally.

PayPal email address: eBay requires sellers to offer PayPal in their listings, this setting is the default payment email address that you use to accept the PayPal payments. You can change this in the listing page if needed but it will default to this value originally.

Payment options (multiple types): Based on your country or eBay marketplace there will be different payment options you can offer your customers. You need to go through the options here and enable them if you accept that payment method. For manual payments such as PO or Cheque you should include the payment name/address in your payment instructions section too. You can still enable or disable the payment methods you accept on the listing page.

Immediate payment required: If you only offer PayPal as a payment option you can choose to require buyers to pay immediately. This will remove any buyers that commit to buy but do not pay as the order will not be confirmed until the payment has cleared through PayPal. You cannot use this option if you offer other payment options. This option can be enabled or disabled on the product listing page.

Tax included in listings: eBay only displays the Gross price to buyers. Here you can set the tax value that is included in your listings for when the order is imported to your store. This value is also used to display the net and gross price when you list an item to help you see both values. You can change this value when you are listing an item if the product has a different rate of tax.

eBay Settings Tab

Your breakdown of the eBay Application Settings tab sections

End items: If you would not like the application to end items for you automatically you can set this

option to no. You will need to manually end the items. This CAN cause serious problems with overselling items if you have disabled this and forget to manually end the item. We suggest that this is always set to yes.

Relist when back in stock: If you have created an item or linked an item to a listing and the stock runs out the auction will end (depending on the setting above). If you choose to relist items when back in stock, when the stock level in OpenCart is greater than 0 the listing will be relisted based on the last listing options. The link will be automatically updated and you can then edit the item if needed.

Enable logging: Having logging enabled will help the support team resolve any issues. If you disable logging and require help we may not be able to offer effective support if there are no logs. We suggest that this is always set to yes.

Default currency: This is based on the currencies you have installed on your store (System > Localisation > Currencies). Whenever an order is imported or you create a listing this value is used to display the information on your admin area.

Customer group: When an order is created and the customer information is added to the database, you can choose to separate the customer and add them to a different group. The customer groups in this list are based on your customer groups setup in OpenCart (System > Users > User Groups)

Allocate stock: You can choose when you would like stock allocated in your OpenCart store. However, we advise that this is always left to when the customer buys. If you enable “immediate payment required” on your listings, then you can change this to when the customer pays. If you sell an item on eBay and the customer does not pay and another sale for that item happens the stock on eBay will be updated to represent your OpenCart stock. This can cause serious problems with over selling if the user decides to pay for the original item late.

New order age limit: When users first register for OpenBay Pro this setting should be set to no greater than 48 hours as this will import orders that may have already been processed and cause confusion. Once users have been using the system for over a month it can be changed to about 10 days to allow for a greater reliability with orders that are unpaid for an extended period of time.

Created date for orders: Orders that are imported from eBay may not be imported for quite some time after the original transaction. You can choose to have the order created date as the actual eBay time (GMT) or the exact time the order was imported to your store.

Time zone offset: eBay uses GMT for all its transactions. If you are not on the same time zone you can choose to offset the time (in hours) to match your zone. If you do not update the offset some orders may seem to import with tomorrows date.

Default address format: OpenCart allows you to set the display format of an address, based on the country. For example, some countries may have the postcode/zip displayed before the town. Imported eBay orders will use this field and you can customise the display if you have a preference.

Notification Settings Order updates: When an order changes status on eBay and the status change is replicated to OpenCart, the administrator can choose to be notified about this change. Stores with many orders should disable this as you may receive a lot of emails and your email provider may start to mark your own emails as spam. New order - buyer: You can choose to send the buyer an email when the order is imported to your store. This is great for promoting your store to buyers and driving traffic. You can modify your email template to include a voucher to increase your order conversions. New order - admin: This is a text email that is sent to the administrator with the order information when the order is imported. If you have many orders you should disable this setting.

Default Import Settings

Import default status: Every order that is imported from eBay will start with this status. The status should be considered for orders that are not paid and not shipped.

Import paid status: This is the status that you use for orders that have been paid but not shipped.

Import shipped status: This is the status that you use for orders that have been paid and have also been shipped.

Import cancelled status: Use the cancelled status for orders that were cancelled but never paid.

Import refunded status: The refunded status is when the order has been cancelled and was once paid and now refunded.

IMPORTANT! You must use the order status’s above - if you use a status for an eBay order that is not set above, the status will be automatically changed when orders are next updated. It is not possible to use a status that is not listed above.

Developer

Empty all data: This will delete data in your store, do not use it. It is for development use only.

Repair item links: This will update your item links to ensure that only 1 active link exists with a product, you should not need to use this option unless advised by support staff.

Synchronising Before you list, you are required to synchronise the eBay categories, your shop categories (if you have an eBay shop) and also your localised settings for your marketplace (such as shipping options, payment options etc). If you have errors when listing a product saying that the category is invalid, the payment option is invalid or shipping service is invalid - you should click through each one of these options to update the values stored in your store.

Updates can take about a minute and confirmation message will display when it is complete. You should not navigate away from the page until you get the message.

For versions 1.5+ Please have a look at this video

Common problems with Synchronising

If your loading icon continues to spin, you should check your OpenCart error log (located under system/logs/) Some users may see a "MySQL server has gone away" message in the error log and the loading icon continues to spin. This is because the store is taking a while to process the data is it getting from the API. To fix this issue contact your host and ask them to change the MySQL setting "wait_timeout" to something over 5 minutes (or 300 seconds) - the default is 30 seconds and is too low for most modern applications. Any good host will do this for you, although some cheaper less reputable hosts may not. In this case you should consider a host that will accommodate changing settings based on your needs.

Upgrading your Version Once you have logged into the account site, at the top of the page there will be an option to download the latest version of OpenBay Pro. Below we’ve covered details on how to download and install the newest version of OpenBay Updating OpenBay Pro To update your OpenBay Pro module for OpenCart follow the instructions below. There are two options; using the built-in update system or updating manually (through FTP - see below). We can also offer a paid update service if you would like us to perform this service for you. Click here for the paid update service.

How to use the update feature built in to the module The OpenBay module has a great feature built direct into it for updating. Go to OpenBay Pro > Manage Under the Update tab, enter your FTP details. Click Test Connection. This will check for your OpenCart folders and if it is ok then you will be given the Update button, press this. You can also press the save button - this will store your FTP details in your database to allow quicker updating next time. If you have recently downloaded OpenBay then you may already be up to date, however, updates are being released all of the time and include new features. You can read the change log here. Important! We DO NOT see or receive your FTP details; they are never transmitted to our API. This is for security.

Update tab

The update tab is where you can enter your FTP details to allow for quick updating of the OpenBay Pro module. Please note that not all hosting providers will allow you to use the PHP FTP functions that are required to use this option. If this is the case, you will need to update the module using the manual method.

FTP username: This is the username that you would normally use if you log in through FTP (programs like FileZilla or Cyberduck).

FTP password: Same as above but this is the password that you use.

FTP server address: This is either an IP address (like 1.2.3.4) or a domain name (like ftp.mydomain.com) - you will have been supplied this along with your login details from your hosting provider.

FTP path on the server: The path is the just the folders that you would normally click through when you log in to FTP to get to where the store is installed, for example on a cPanel host it would just be “public_html”.

Admin directory: Some users rename the admin folder in OpenCart for security, if you have changed the folder name then you should also change it here. Please note that you still need to modify the vQmod files manually to match your folder.

Use passive FTP: If your server is having problems transferring the files, choose this option.

Regarding BETA releases: Only use this option if you have been advised to do so - this may break your store if you use it without instruction.

Updating OpenBay Pro manually - through FTP Backup your files and database

Log in to your OpenBay Pro account (click here).

Select your OpenCart version from the list.

Click the Download button.

Unzip the downloaded folder.

Login to an FTP client such as Filezilla (available for Mac and PC) - you can download FileZilla from here.

You will need your server address, username, and password to access your hosting FTP directory.

Connect to your server and navigate to your OpenCart main directory (this contains your admin, catalog and system folders).

Drag the contents of everything inside the 'upload' folder (admin, catalog, system, etc.) to the OpenCart directory in your FTP program - making sure to overwrite contents when prompted.

When the download is complete, run the manual update patch - from your website go to Extensions > OpenBay Pro > Dashboard, manage button, Patch tab, and click the Patch button (a message box should appear stating the 'Patch has been applied').

You should now see, from Extensions > OpenBay Pro > Dashboard, that you have the latest version of OpenBay Pro.

Our Plans: Explained Our plans (as found within your account) allow you to change your subscription to match your business, as every business has busy or quiet spells (hopefully more the former than then latter) However, let’s explore this in more depth to answer any common questions you may have. Small Differences All our plans are affordable and allow you to manage your stores straight out of the box once you’ve set everything up (see everything above) But we often get questions about the plans and how they work. eBay plans; focus on Linked products and sales, so them that match up in OpenCart are adjusted when sales come through. Amazon plans; are based on listings, not sales. These also build up over time, so adding 200 a month over 6 months, you’ll have 1,200 products listed and managed in OpenCart and on Amazon. Etsy Plans: work in the same way as eBay but on a smaller scale, this is due to the nature of Etsy and it’s handmade/niche market. A Breakdown of what’s included! We get a large number of questions ranging from “what is the import frequency? To what counts as a sale within the eBay plan?” What Exactly is the Import Frequency and the difference with Instant Updates? Import Frequency is when orders are pulled in, even with the freebie plan orders will continue to come through. Should items be linked, Stock will be adjusted, across all marketplaces that are linked up. Instant updates (on large plans and higher) will update stock across all platforms and is only available on eBay. Can I have More than one eBay account with my OpenBay Pro? Sadly, no, only one eBay, Amazon EU, Etsy and Amazon US can be applied to OpenBay Pro Account and One domain. What counts as a sale under your plans? This is based on the item not the amount of the same item sold within a single order. An example of this would be. You sell 50 red Apples in one order, this counts as one sale, if you sell 20 Red Apples, 14 Oranges and 1 pundit of Grapes, in 1 order, this counts as 3, as 3 items have been purchased, stock levels would be adjusted upon payment has been made.
