Half-week ProgramsPerfect for girls entering grades 1–3 ready to explore their first overnight camping experience. Programs combine themed projects and traditional camp activities, to acclimate girls by letting them do what they already love, and introducing new interests that will keep them coming back for more!

Themes for all Half-week Programs correspond to the same-titled One-week Program descriptions. Campers attending Half-week programs do not earn Brownie Try-its.

One-week Camper Programs

about critters at camp and beyond, and may bring their favorite stuffed animal for company. A visit to the local Alpaca farm and time at the stable with the horses round out the week—with a chance to take a short horseback ride, weather permitting. Swimming and a cookout are definitely on the schedule!

Girls pamper themselves when they turn their unit into a camp spa! Campers relax and enjoy home-made facials, give and get manicures, and make their own lip gloss, lotions and bath oils. The value of fitness, good health and stress reduction is a key message when they experiment with nutritious recipes and try martial arts and aqua aerobics.

Campers take challenges to the next level when they climb the wall, go boating and hiking, practice archery, and take a one-night trip off-site. Girls learn to think “outside the box” through a series of team-challenge activities.

Girls get creative and crafty with jewelry making, scrap booking, stamp carving and more! A highlight of the week is a visit to the Goggle Works in Reading, where they’ll meet a true artist at work.

Perfect for girls who want to relax! Girls choose their own “chill out” activities for the week—trying yoga, relaxing by the pool (and safe-sunning!), enjoying late-night chats and snacks … and sleeping in! The ultimate in hangin’ out.

Club Wood HavenAugust 8–13COST: $310EARn: Stress to Success IPA

Camp Wood Haven Spa awaits! Relaxed campers enjoy yoga, swimming and aerobics, and experiment with natural cosmetic remedies. Girls give and get facials, manicures, and pedicures, and learn good nutrition and stress-less activities they can do at home. The week tops off with visits to a Beauty School and a Beauty Store for tips on hair care, styling basics, skin care and make-up products.

ghostbustersJuly 18–23COST: $375

Explore the paranormal! Campers travel to Lancaster, one of the nation’s oldest cities where haunting tales of fatal curses and star-crossed lovers remain a mystery. A trip

to Gettysburg National Park includes a tour led by The Ghosts of Gettysburg (voted the World’s #1 Ghost Tour!). Girls move on to Philadelphia, for an interactive, hands-on Ghost Hunting Tour using electromagnetic field meters! Bring the cameras!

g.i. JaneJuly 25–30COST: $285

Ooh-rah! Girls improve fitness levels with martial arts, the climbing wall and low ropes course—all with encouragement from the team. Campers get tips on healthy eating and making healthy snacks, and go home with a personal workout plan based on their individual health and fitness goals. As a group, girls also develop a map and practice compass and global positioning system skills.

Hiking Through HistoryAugust 1–6COST: $355EARn: Gettysburg Boy Scout Medal and Patch

Hiking and History are the focus when campers visit two National Parks. A one-day stop at Valley Forge prepares campers for a two-night trip to Gettysburg. At Gettysburg, girls explore and hike the battlefield and surrounding areas—and take a tour led by The Ghosts of Gettysburg (voted the World’s #1 Ghost Tour!).

iron ChefAugust 1–6COST: $285EARn: Creative Cooking IPA

It’s competitive cooking! To prepare, girls learn how food is prepared, practice recipes, and compile a take-home cookbook. A visit to a local restaurant to chat with a culinary professional lets

campers further sample the food preparation industry. The tasty week caps off as camper-teams scramble to create a dish for a judging panel, using a themed ingredient. Bon appétit!

Robin Hood, eat your heart out! Close one eye, pull back the arrow, aim, let go and POW! Bullseye! Girls improve technique, form and other skills in target archery with themed games like Lucky Dip, Monopoly and Pairs. When the sun goes down, the Maid Marians take aim with night archery, then wrap up the week with a tournament!

On the Road AgainAugust 8–13COST: $395

Last summer’s popular On the Road program takes a detour! Highlights include a trip to The Franklin Institute in Philadelphia, shopping at the King of Prussia Mall, and a day of fun at Dorney Park. While in camp girls participate in traditional camp activities.

Out of BoundsAugust 1–6COST: $325

Strike 3 … you’re out! Girls sample different sports along with traditional camp fun. Activities include basketball, volleyball, softball, rollerblading, archery, boating and swimming—and a chance to tackle the low ropes course and climbing wall. As if that’s not enough, campers visit the Body Zone for ice skating, and take in a professional baseball game.

Rock OutJune 27–July 2COST: $300

Abutment, carabiner, bouldering, pendulum, zenith. All add up to a scrambling, multi-site circuit of rock climbing. Girls get going on Wood Haven’s low ropes course and climbing wall, shift gears at an indoor gym, summit to Camp Tohikanee for high and low ropes courses, and reach for the top at Camp Tweedale’s rock face!

Summer SamplerJune 27–July 2July 11–16July 25–30COST: $280

For girls who want it all! Campers sleep out, cook out, boat, swim, hike, climb the wall, horseback ride (weather permitting), try archery, and make arts and crafts. What’s next?!

Camp with an after-dark twist! Girls create a bit of their own midnight madness with night hikes, stargazing, moonlit games, evening swims, midnight munchies, and pajama-breakfasts. (Midnight-oilers still see the light of day to enjoy other traditional camp activities!)

On The RoadJuly 4–9COST: $395

Every day brings a new adventure! The week’s highlights include trips to Hershey Park, rafting on the Lehigh River, and outlet shopping. Every road leads back to camp, where girls enjoy all their favorite activities.

Treasure HuntJune 27–July 2COST: $280EARn: Hi-Tech Hide and Seek IPA

Treasure hunting at its finest. Girls learn to find their way, hiking on trails on and off the campsite. Campers learn to use different maps, a compass and a global positioning system unit to follow clues over land and water—en route to their treasure!

uncover the EvidenceJuly 11–16COST: $305EARn: Law and Order IPA

Solve the mystery! Girls learn all the CSI-techniques needed to solve a crime—dusting for fingerprints, combing a crime scene, tracking clues over land and water, interviewing suspects, and examining evidence. A visit with a police officer sheds even more light on what it’s like to work in law enforcement.

Window to the WorldAugust 1–6COST: $325

Haai, Hola, Hoi, Bonjour, Dia Duit, Aloha, Ciao … Hello! International camp counselors take girls on a cultural trip around the world. Campers learn phrases in other languages, create and sample international cuisine, learn how teens in other countries spend their free time, and enjoy a meal at a Japanese Hibachi restaurant. The week caps off with a camp-wide international fair the girls host themselves.

Trail SignsJuly 4–9COST: $305PREREquiSiTE: All experience levels welcome. Girls must bring sturdy, well-fitting hiking boots that are broken-in, and be in good physical condition to walk a few miles

each day carrying a backpack. Campers may bring their own equipment, or use one of the camp’s framed backpacks.

Girls plan their own backpacking adventure! Campers gear up for one or two nights on the Appalachian Trail, and enjoy traditional camp activities on-site the rest of the week.

Wet and WildJuly 11–16July 25–30COST: $375

Water + Sun = FUN! Girls hang out by the pool, explore Teardrop Island and take a creek hike –then head off-site for a rafting trip in the borough of Jim Thorpe, and a day at Camel Beach. Water to the extreme!

Wilderness AdventureJuly 18–30COST: $660

Calling all thrill seekers! Campers dive right into their adventure with low and high ropes courses and rock climbing on-site, a rafting trip on the Lehigh River, and a hike along the Appalachian Trail. Then it’s off to their overnight trip at Ohiopyle State Park for whitewater rafting, rock climbing, and hiking.

Beach SafariAugust 1–13COST: $610

Girls begin their Safari preparing their gear, teambuilding and enjoying activities on-site. Then it’s off to Chincoteague for sea kayaking, ocean swims, sandcastles and biking on the beach, observing wildlife, a trip to the lighthouse—and more!

gSEP AdventureJuly 4–15COST: $625EARn: High Adventure IPA

See it all on this GSEP Summer Camp circuit! Girls climb the wall and horseback ride English-style at Wood Haven, shoot archery and ride

Western-style at Laughing Waters, climb high and low ropes at Tohikanee, bounce on “The Blob” and raft the Lehigh River at Mosey Wood, and climb the rock face and go boating at Tweedale. Campers return to Wood Haven between trips.

FOR GIRLS ENTERING GRADES 9–12

Broadway MagicJuly 18–30COST: $600EARn: Performing Arts IPA

It’s show time! Girls explore the world of theatre by practicing their own singing, dancing, and acting—and with a visit to the local Dutch Apple Theatre for a backstage tour, dinner and a show. Between rehearsals, campers swim, practice archery, hike and more. The finale is their own performance for family, friends and fellow campers.
