Guidelines for choice of Open Elective course1. Students are required to clearly mention the number of open electives for which they wish to enroll.2. Students are advised to give a preference of at least three courses, in order of preference, for each open elective.3. First choice of students will be allotted, if the batch strength does not exceed the maximum strength of a batch as mentioned against

each course above.4. In the event of a course being opted by more number of students than the proposed maximum strength, a random selection of students

would be done for those courses. Next preference of the students, who will be eliminated due to this random selection, will beconsidered for allotting them open elective.

    5. If again the number of students, for the next preference, exceeds the maximum strength, step 3 will be repeated.6. Step 3 will be repeated till all the students have been allotted desired number of open elective(s).

    7. If the choices given by any student are exhausted before he is allotted any open elective(s), then he may be allotted any available openelective course(s).

    8. The list of students for various open elective courses will be displayed on the Institute website.9. The students may add/drop the open elective courses, at the beginning of the odd semester, before the last date of add/drop for courses.

However, the choice of adding any course is limited as per the maximum strength of the batch, as mentioned at 3.

10.If a student has to opt more than one open elective than it is the responsibility of the student to ensure that the time-table of the coursesopted by him does not have any clash.
