• IT / OT manufacturers are converging to specify a real “end-to end” solution
• Give logical choice on design from grid to rack in AC and inside rack removing silos
• Reduce AC/DC conversion
• Solve questions of centralized vs. distributed UPS and also the technology choice
• Rack/server integration (drawers) and connectivity (bus) , in operation (safety, fast to replace), better efficiency on cooling

Open Computer Rack (OCP V2.0 specs)
UL, Facebook OCPNo back door fans
As of 2017, there are 3 main server and rack designs in OCP
Open Rack V2• This is the most well-known OCP design.• Rack has 21” mounting rails and bigger “U” spacing.• Centralized rack level PSU and option for rack level Li-ion batteries (currently, only
Facebook and Google deploy rack batteries).• 12VDC (Facebook & others) or 48VDC (Google) backplane options.
Project Olympus• Developed by Microsoft• Servers fit standard 19” rack• Servers have internal redundant 3-phase PSUs and are fed by a specialized universal
rPDU. No batteries in the server or rack.
CG-OpenRack-19 (Carrier Grade)• Developed by Radisys within the Telco Project.• Similar to Open Rack V2 but in 19” rack.• Limited deployments at Verizon as of 2018.
OCP impact to data center electrical designNot all OCP designs have batteries in the rack

HyperPod successfully addresses the growing trend of IT equipment being deployed rack-by-rack, rather than server-by-server.
Fast Speeds up deployment and integrates fully configured racks
Flexible Compatible with many power/cooling/rack configurations
Simple Standardize design and deployment by scaling at pod level
Cost Effective Lower overall deployment cost
Software defined power improving efficiency at the PSU
Programmable power sharing improving efficiency at the PSU
Dynamic PSU module redundancy depending on load condition.
Efficient Continuously tracks load vs efficiency and compare the data to the
efficiency profile of the power module
