INTER SCHOOL ART, CULTURAL & LITERARY COMPETITION – 2017.

The son of the soil, a philanthropist and the founder of Jindal Group, Syt. Shri Om Prakash Jindal Ji (Popularly known as BABUJI) always believed in the philosophy of giving back to the society. In the lines of his philosophy and to commemorate his birth anniversary on 7th August, O.P.Jindal School Raigarh organized Interschool Art, Cultural and Literary Competition on 5th of August, wherein 16 peripheral Schools and more than 300 students participated in different events. The students from different schools started gathering on 5th August, 17 in the school auditorium at 8:00 AM. The programme started at 9:00 AM with Shloka, Lighting of Lamp, Floral Tribute to revered Babuji, Speech and Welcome Song. The assembly further was addressed by honourable Principal Shri R. K. Trivedi. He formally announced the competitions open for the day.

The competition was divided into four categories viz.

Essay writing Competition

Group Song Competition

Debate Competition

Drawing Competition

As usual last three events took place on the spot, witnessed by the students & staff of

O.P. Jindal School, Raigarh and the participating schools. More than 300 students of

16 different schools participated in it.

Craft department of OP Jindal School, Raigarh.

11TH O. P. JINDAL MEMORIAL INTER SCHOOL FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT

The Inter School Football Tournament was held from 2nd to 7th August, 2017 in our school playground in which 9 different schools from Raigarh participated. In the Final match held on 7th August,2017 between O. P. Jindal School, Raigarh and St. Michael Hindi Med. School, Raigarh, our school emerged as the winner for the 8th time and bagged the trophy, mementoes and cash award of Rs. 5,000/-. Mr. Pankaj Gautam, Executive Director (Projects & Operations), JSPL, Raigarh graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and awarded the prizes. He appreciated and encouraged both the teams. He further congratulated and applauded the efficient guidance of Mr. R. K. Trivedi, Principal OPJS for the successful conduct of the tournament. The programme concluded with prize distribution ceremony.

The school conducted a series of literary, cultural & sports activities during the week-long Founder’s Day celebrations in which the students from various schools participated enthusiastically. The Winners & Participants were suitably awarded with certificates, trophies and cash prizes and mementoes for their wonderful performance.

PRIZE DISTRIBUTION CEREMONY

A memorable, soulful and mellifluous evening at O. P. Jindal School in collaboration with Jindal Officers Club organised “Bhajan Sandhya” to conclude birth anniversary celebration of revered Babuji. The programme started at 7:15 PM with lighting of lamp by Mrs. & Mr. Pankaj Gautam, Executive Director (Projects & Operations) & Mrs. & Mr. Rakesh Jindal, Executive Director (Finance), JSPL, Raigarh and Mr. R.K. Trivedi, Principal, OPJS, Raigarh, Administrator, Head mistress and other dignitaries of OPJS and JOC.

The sequence of Bhajans started with traditional Ganesh Vandana by Mr. Jagmohan Kumar Patel followed by beautiful voices of Banani Das, Vidhan Agrawal, Sanskar Panigrahi, Bhairavi Mahant, Khyati Yadav (students of OPJS). The audience was enthralled by their melodious voice & musical notes. The bhajan sequence further included the recitals of Rimpa Banerjee, Surasree Bhattacharjee, Shampa Ghosh (Teacher of OPJS) and Devashish Guru (Ex Student of OPJS). The whole programme was coordinated by G. D. Mahant and Subhash Kumar equally supported by other members of Performing Art department of O.P. Jindal School.

As a token of appreciation to all the performers JOC provided with the mementoes given away by honourable ED Shri Pankaj Gautam ji. The two-hours audience-inspired Bhajan Sandhya filled the auditorium with spirituality & divine minds.
