    Howdy Folks

Well, by the time that you read this, it will be a littleunder a month before we all get in our 1:1 scales and

head of down to Kimberley for the SANNL.

Im sure during the past year you have all had greatambitions as to what you are going to take this year, and Im sure that nobody is anywhere near that

    achievement

So lock yourselves in your man caves, and get somemodeling done. Even if its just one kit to display, its

    one more on the table.

I think its always good to remind ourselves, that themost important thing is that you build for yourself. Aslong as you are happy with your model, thats all that

    matters.

Okay, some great photos came in this month Hot Rods,Jap Rods, and a whole load of other stuff and thanks to

everyone again that sent in photos.

Ill see you all in Kimberley on the 10th & 11th, (Ill bethe one that looks lost) and Im very much looking for-

ward to meeting all you guys.

    Cheers

    Steve

NEXT MONTHS THEME, ESPECIALLY FOR WAYNE FORDS!!!

    Would you like to contribute?

Every month the Car modelers pull out all the stops

and send in their photos and they are the reason wehave managed to survive this far.

Would you like to contribute an article or maybe even a

    build or kit review?

You really dont need to be Shakespeare because I

have a very clever computer that sorts all that out.

You can submit in word format, with a few photos. (size

doesn't matter as I can compress the pictures).

Im looking for maybe a couple of guys that would beinterested in doing an article or column every monthmaybe, something funny, modeling related, give every-

    one a good giggle.

If youre interested, drop me a mail on the any of theemails below, or sms me, I dont mind and lets have a

chat, or alternatively you can chat to me at the SANNL.

    NEW RELEASES

    PORSCHE 917K

    1970 Le Mans winner

    Due for release September

    MORE NEWS BUT NO PICS

More news from the folks at Tamiya about upcoming releases for the remainder of the year.

First up is a new version of the Subaru BRZ, a Street Custom version, and separate Carbon decals for it.

It also appears Tamiya have been listening to its 1/12th scale bike fans and are re-releasing 3 off road bikes.

The Honda CR 450 with Rider, Honda CR 250 and the Suzuki RM 250. The Suzuki was one of the hardest bikes to

find, so youll no longer have to look on e-bay and pay stupid prices woohoo!

    the

    sannlModel car show

Lets start by putting all of you out of your misery thatarent aware of what it means, It stands for NamelessNational Luminaries.

NNLs have been going in, mainly in the States, for agood 30 years now and their credo has always beenthe same, a non competitive event to show off great carmodels, have fun, meet up with old and new friends

    and enjoy yourself.

The SANNL is now in its 17th year, so it really is the bigdaddy of car model shows in this country.

The show in Kimberley is not just for the car modellingloonies either, you can bring along the whole family andsend them off too see whatever there is to see in Kim-berley, then pack them off shopping while you attackthe sales table with the monthly grocery money

This years event is happening on the 10th & 11th ofOctober and promises to be one of the best yet. Sostop moaning, start building, and get yourself to downto Kimberley in October and join in the fun. Lets make it

    the biggest and best yet.

The usual suspects (from L to R)

Charl Coertze, Martyn Slabbert, Willie Dry,

Renier Roetz, Peter (Grumpys) Thomas, Gerhard Van Vuuren.

Being a Dakar enthusiast inspired Letsitele modeller, Charl Coertse, to build his Desert Raid diorama from a Unimog fire truck and a shortened Chrysler 300Rally Car. Pretty much the rest is scratch built and finished with Zero paints. The model took several years to complete, but won awards for the best ModernClosed Wheel Competition Vehicle, the Colin Chapman Memorial Award for Competition Car of the Year and the Overall Best of Show Award.
