Robinson, formerly of Schuylerville, who is on terminal leave from the army, has been notified that he has been promoted to captain from first lieutenant. Captain Robinson, who resides with his uncle, Patrick E. Kiley in Glens Falls, enlisted March 10, 1941, and served for two years In Italy, France, Germany, and Australia wjth the infantry. He was awarded the silver star, purple heart and presidential citation. Settlements Announced BALLSTON SPA — In supreme court Thursday afternoon a settle* ment was effected in the actions of Ernest Prisco and Harvey A. Allard against Henry Lang and Paul Muller. Prisco and Allard were passengers in the car of Mul- ler when it was in collision with Lang's .car in the Amsterdam- Scotia road on Aug. 33. Settlement was announced in the action of June Estelle ' Williams, Antoinette Kehoe, Francis L. Ke- hoe and Francis L. Kehoe Jr., against Burton Matteson. An auto- mobile owned by Francis L. Kehoe and driven by June Estelle Wil- liams and occupied by the other three plaintiffs was on the night of Sept. 15, 1945 going east in the Corinth road near Ashgrove when it was in collision with Matteson's car. Justice Alexander adjourned court until 10 a.m., Monday, when another justice will be called in to preside if Justice Earle S. Martin. » 1 Mrs. Anna Riddervold Found Dead in Bed BALLSTON SPA, Jan. 20—Mrs. Anna Lorentse Riddervold, 85, was found dead In bed yesterday after- noon at her home In East Lihe. Death is believed to have been due to natural causes. Mrs. Riddervold was last seen alive Thursday by her grandson, Charles Riddervold. When Mrs. Riddervold was not seen about yesterday, her grandson found the door locked and an entrance had to be forced. Deputy Sheriff Byron K. Flack conducted an Investigation. Jus- tice of the Peace Edwin C. Welch, acting coroner, authorized the Guertin Funeral home to take charge of the body. Dr. C. J. Hlg- ley declared that Mrs, Riddervold had been dead at least 24 hours. She was born Sept. 28, 1860 at Nattcre, Norway, and was the widow of Nils Riddervold. Besides her grandson she. la survived by a daughter, Mrs. Nicholane Stryker of While Plains, and a soft", Ole Riddervold of Blnghamton. Lyons, formerly of Corinth, Sara- toga county, has been presented the Legion of Merit medal at cere- monies conducted at the Syracuse army air base. Father Lyons was named for the award in 1943, when he served as an army chaplain in New Guinea. Maj. Albert R. Long, commanding offi- cer of the army air base, made the presentation and read the ac- companying citation which said "for exceptionally meritorious con- duct in the performance of out- standing services in New Guinea from June, 1942 to May, 1943." Ax a major with the 35th fighter group, Rev. Father Lyons arrived in New Guinea when there was no special service officer in the area. Accordingly to the citation he im- mediately obtained books and other recreational equipment and super- vised the building" of mess halls and kitchens. Later he erected a chapel in New Guinea with his own hands, dedicating it to the war heroes in that area and turning it over for use by all denominations. Rev. Father Lyons began service in the army May 13, 1942, and was overseas until April, 1944. He is now resuming his civilian duties as pas- tor of the Holy Family church in Fairmont, which appointment he received the first of the year. Rev. Father Lyons is a graduate of Corinth High school, Niagara university and Mt. St. Mary's Semi- nary, Emmettsburg, Md. He was ordained in 1925 at Albany and has served churches in Oswego, Fulton, Utica, Phoenix, Canastota and Pul- aski. He has a sister, Miss Mary Lyons of Corinth.
