The show was created in 1998 and is now one of the UK’s leading marine modelling exhibition, the only 3 day exhibition dedicated to all aspects of marine modelling. As you go around the exhibition you will see many specialist marine modelling suppliers offering a vast range of kits, hulls and accessories. Whatever you need for your project you are sure to find it here. Make sure you visit them all to see their full range of products on offer. This year we have even more modelling clubs and associations attending with some of the finest marine models on show. Visitors can enjoy the excellent and varied displays of models, from early warships to modern power boats and ships, which are complimented by action on the boating pool. The Surface Warship Association will again lead a poignant tribute during the 2 minutes silence on Remembrance Day and for younger visitors, don't miss 'children's hour' at the poolside between 1pm and 2pm on Saturday and Sunday. This year we are celebrating The 120th Anniversary of the official opening of the Manchester Ship Canal and are supported by The Steam Tug Kerne Preservation Society. Our 2nd celebration is the 190th Anniversary of the RNLI which is displayed on the Lifeboat Enthusiasts’ Society stand and the RNLI stand. Our thanks to all of our exhibitors in making this what I hope you will agree is yet another hugely interesting and successful International Model Boat Show. The Model Yacht Pond at Maldon, Essex, is the venue for monthly gatherings on the second Sunday of the month (10am onwards). Barge matches are arranged during the summer months and details of these as well as modelling information and AMBO membership can be obtained from Richard Chesney.

Wind and electricity are the usual forms of power though some dabble in steam. Several members have won awards over the years so expert advice is usually available.

Building Aluminium Steam Boats EEJohn HansonThis exhibition shows the advantages of building steam boats in metal. The processes involved in welding aluminium for the frame and the use of litho plate for the finish of hull and superstructure in ships where rivets can be shown.A variety of scratch built models will be on display, with steam plants.

Daventry Model Boat Club TRon SmithT: 01327 871636Daventry MBC is a small, limited membership club sailing in Napton Narrowboats Marina, Sundays from 1pm – 5pm and Wednesday evenings from 6pm – 9pm (light and weather permitting). We sail scale and yachts just for fun. No IC, Hovercraft or Fast Electrics. Because of boat movement in the

marina, we cannot lay out a course to hold visitor regattas. The club membership is now full but we have a waiting list.

We meet at County Hall, Worcester on Sunday mornings, and on the 1st and 3rd Sunday in the month we are at Top Barn Farm, Hallow. We have an eclectic mix of boats and members who enjoy a good sail and chat.

Eastleigh & District Model Boat Club HPat HendraW: www.edmbc.netThe Club has around 60 Members divided between a Scale section which meet at Highbridge Farm near Colden Common and a sail section which uses public Water in Eastleigh. The Club is also proud of its Junior section where a group of children make and sail their own R/C boats cars and lorries ( many of which will be on display on our Club Stand.) The Club holds Competitions as part of its Annual Regatta each August and examples of recent Winners will also be on display. The Club Members make electric motor driven scale models of almost every sort of ship you can imagine and steam is making a comeback---please come and see what we are up to.

Gloucester & District Model Boat Club IEdward TedaldiW: www.gdmbc.co.ukThe Gloucester & District Boat Club has over 100 members. They build and sail all types of craft. They also have a monthly winter social programme. They have four sailing venues with Over Basin now extended to over half a mile, on the outskirts of Gloucester being the most popular. The club help maintain the canal. The reward, a picturesque sailing venue. Gloucester Docks is another sailing venue dodging full size craft.

The Happy Hobby Modellers DDDerrick HillWe sail at Black Park Slough and other waters where permitted. We like to encourage the hobby and encourage new young people to get involved.

Founded in April 1982 as an association of folk with an interest in knots and knotting techniques of all kinds. We now have over a thousand members worldwide. Our membership includes all sorts of people, university professors, surgeons, sailors, scouts, magicians, farmers, miners, accountants to name just a few, and they live in places as far apart as Australia, Japan and the U.S.A.

Founded over 40 years ago, the Society has a flourishing membership whose interests include the history of the service, modern technology developments, lifeboat postcard collecting, lifeboat modelling and photographic records – indeed anything connected with lifeboats.

Manx Model Boat Club JKim HollandE: [email protected] present Club was formed in 1985 and has a growing membership of around 55 varied enthusiasts of all ages from 7 to 80+. We hold informal weekly sail-ins plus an annual events calendar. We also run an “Av-a-Go” enterprise to encourage young people into the hobby and to raise money for charity (this year 2014 for Chernobyl Children and the RNLI). Members build anything, and enjoy trips off-island for shows and events and would be delighted to meet you.
