One of the great Sri Vaishnava Acharyas, Sri Manavala Mamunigal, compiled this yatirAja vimSati stotram in glorification of the lotus feet of Bhagavat Sri Ramanuja. The sweetness of this stotram is that it reveals the gist of Rahasya Trayam with its collection of twenty words. The word Vimsati means twenty. The prefatory verse means that this Stotra will have effect in getting the grace of Sri Ramanuja for those who recite it.

Dear Devotees:

Sri Venkateswara Temple wishes you and your family a Happy and Prosperous 2017!

On behalf of the Board of Directors, Executive Committee members, and Trustees, we thank you for your participation and support of SV Temple throughout the year. Our sincere gratitude for your generous contributions and invaluable services during the 2015-2016 calendar year to the SV Temple. We are humbled by your continued visit to our Temple.

In the coming year we will endeavor to maintain and improve the stature of our Temple as the foremost authentic temple in the western hemisphere (outside of Mother India).

With your encouragement, SV Temple for the first time conducted the Ashtakshari Vishwa Shanti Yagnam with 108 priests invited from within USA and India. It was done for the first time with thirteen metal homa kundams that earned high praise from visiting priests for their technologically advanced safety and beauty. The Vedic vibrations from the synchronized recitation by 108 priests were experienced by devotees who participated in this Vishwa Shanti Yagnam.

In early October, Brahmotsavam was celebrated with great energy and enthusiasm by our Temple priests. The highlight of the function was daily Vahana Seva coupled with vedic chanting.

SV Temple also conducted the first live stream of the Satyanarayana puja on the full moon day in July. Our religious outreach programs continued with functions in Washington DC Morgantown, WV, Erie, PA and other places. SV Temple was happy to donate and participate in the opening celebrations of the new temple in Morgantown, WV. During the year we upgraded the audio/video equipment in the small auditorium for enhancement of devotee needs. The audio facilities in Mahmandapam and Ganesha sannidhi were improved for better devotee experience with the religious functions. The SV Temple lobby was redesigned to improve devotee service and their experience.

SV Temple conducts many educational and cultural programs that are open to public, this year lectures were arranged on a variety of topics on Sanatana Dharma by eminent Swamini/Swamijis : Svatmavidyananda, Ishatmananda, Tyagananda, B. Nagendra, Dushyanth Sridhar, Sama Vedam Shanumukha Sarma on Bhakti Tatva and Velukkudi Krishnan on the life and works of Sri Ramanuja. SV Temple contributed several scholarships and many thousands of dollars were given to needy students to further their education.

The SV Temple annual programs of Sri Thyagaraja, Purandara dasa, Annamacharya, Swati Tirunal and Alwar aradhanas were conducted with large number of devotee participation. Many cultural programs were scheduled throughout the year.

It is a tradition at SV Temple, that many students and scholars, both in and outside of Hindu faith regularly visit the Temple to  learn the authentic and formal worship at our temple. During this year also, as in the past, SV Temple arranged visits, lectures as well as transportation to the temple for students of local schools and universities.

SV Temple conducted many humanitarian programs   including community food bank donations, Kidney disease screening, secured a new defibrillator, conducted lunch service at Jubilee Kitchen several times, and donations to deserving religious and humanitarian causes. SV Temple contributed and sponsored the charity 5k Walk /run event in Sept. SV Temple continues to search for new ways to raise funds for expanded humanitarian and educational activities.

SV Temple considers youth and their participation in temple events as an important aspect. An excellent week long camp was conducted this year in August.

Temple is planning expansion of facilities for Balavihar, and other cultural aspects. Long range planning committee is working on expansion of facilities and much needed parking services to all devotees.

SV Temple paricharakas and many mahila committee volunteers have worked tirelessly to prepare and serve over half a million prasadam food packets to devotees. We organized at the temple several annadanam programs for our religious functions. Most memorable one was for the Vishwa Shanti Yagnam during the Labor Day week end. A job well done was to serve and take care of the 108 priests visiting the temple for the yagnam. One notable feature this year is that the temple is going green and using bio degradable products in packing the food served to the devotees.

A noteworthy feature at SV Temple is the continuous increase in the number of devotees visiting the temple every day particularly the number coming from out of town as well as from out of the country. The need for better parking and better facilities to serve the devotees is becoming very evident. Accordingly our long range planning committees are hard at work to develop plans for better facilities and better parking for the visiting devotees. This involves sizeable investment and much work to accomplish this. We seek your continued and active contributions and support to build facilities to make a Temple a more convenient place for your visit

May the blessings of Lord Venkateswara and Sri Padmavathi always be with all of us!

Sincerely,

ChairmanHari Murty
