In the States has already begun a debate about replacing of total taxation with a single one
tax. The new proposed tax will be paid by the end consumer of the product, and will be paid at
the time that the product or service is purchasing.
The main benefit is that this kind of taxation eliminates the chance for black money, and tax
avoidance, in other words contributes towards transparent economy. Still most of people may
ask if this tax system is progressive and fair.
The answer is that this system first of all a boost to economy. For instance in Greece the price
of Unleaded Gasoline was at 28/01/2011 price is 1.4611
Euros on average, the distiller price was
0.506 Euros on top of we get the contribution tax 12 (law act N.3335/05) + Regulator tariff
0.00019 + Special Tax on Consuming 0.67 euros+ Special tariff (law act N.2093/92=0,5% ) 0.006
+ (VAT 23% ) 0.273 euros =1.461 euros. In contrast with the application of one fair tax 25% the
end price is reduced to 0.6325 Euros. So there is a clear profit for the end consumer from the
application of the one tax system.
Now is the time for someone to ask what about the state income from taxes, will be reduced?
The answer is no... The Hellenic National Income in 2010 was 202.01 billion Euros that leadto a Conclusion that the total earnings for the state will be 202,010,0000 Euros=*0.25=50.04
billion Euros instead of 40,062 that government earned by taxation2.
So the one fair tax will increase the State income and will force the public deficit close to zero.

To improve the progressiveness of the proposed system we can introduce a credit tax
paycheck for unemployment and poor families that will bridge the gap between their income
and the essential to survive in dignity minimum income (5640 euros per adult yearly is the
poverty income limit in Greece) and that will be paid at the begging of every year (increase
leverage of the economy)
On top we shall add the benefits from administrative cost (for calculate and collect of taxation),
the increment of discernment income, the simplification of tax legislation in addition to
leverage coming as result multiplier effects in economy and the reconstitution of consumers
expectations due to the increment of the disposal income.
