SATHYABAMA UNIVERSITY Sathyabama University was established under Section (3) of the UGC Act, 1956, in the year 1987. It is a pioneer institute imparting knowledge in the areas of engineering, technology, education, science and arts. The progress and contribution of the University in the field of technical education for three decades, made the Ministry of Human Resources Development, Govt. of India, to grant University status Under Section (3) of the UGC Act, 1956. Sathyabama University is steered towards success under the leadership of visionary founder Col. Dr. JEPPIAAR, Chancellor Tmt. Remibai Jeppiaar, and the able support and guidance of the pro chancellor, Dr. Mariazeena Johnson and vice president, Dr. Marie Johnson. The University has undertaken various sponsored projects funded by National organizations and also successfully conducted nonformal education programs through 18 village Resource Centers all over the state. 16 & 17 MARCH, 2017 DEPARTMENT OF ENGLISH The Department of English is one among the established departments since the inception of the University in the year 1987. It actively involves in various research works in the area of English Language and Literature. Apart from academics, the Department imparts personality development, soft skills and placement training to students at the tertiary level. The department has organised conferences at national and international levels besides conducting workshops and symposiums every year. ABSTRACT SUBMISSIONThe abstract of the paper should be mailed [email protected] on or before

5   February, 2017.  The last date for submission of the full­length paper

along with the details of registration is the 15   of February, 2017. Include in your abstract: (1) themearea, (2) title of your paper, (3) your name, batch & year,

(4) your affiliation and(5) your e­mail and postal addresses.

Acceptance of your paper will be intimated, based onpeer review, by the 10   of February, 2017.  Paper

presenters are expected to follow 7th MLA format with aword limit of 2000­2500 words.

The objective of the proposed seminar is to trace thechange that characterizes Indian Writing in English thathas evolved creatively and critically in the 21st  centuryand has spread across the globe. Over the past decades

a host of Indian writers have carved out a niche forthemselves in the global space. The seminar exploresan array of themes of such contemporary Indian writers. We invite papers from interested UG and PG students

on the following aspects:

A registration fee of INR 250/­ is to be paid by Presentersand INR 150/­  by participants which will include the

Seminar kit, lunch and refreshments.MODE OF PAYMENT: DD in favour of Sathyabama

University, Chennai, on or before  20   of February, 2017.

Certificates for Attendance and Presentation will beissued towards the end of the seminar, therefore,
