Clara Hughes - Only Person in the World to Win Multiple Medals at Summer and Winter GamesClara Hughes, who is the only person to ever win multiple medals at both the Summer and Winter Olympics, is leaving the sport one of Canada’s most recognizable Olympians. Accepting the bronze medal win in Vancou-ver 2010 in her "nal Olympic competition before retiring, Hughes is the second oldest medalist in women’s speed skating history. Her six-medal résumé also includes a gold in the 5,000 m at the 2006 Turin Olympics, and two bronze medals in cycling from the Summer Games. A valued member of the Order of Canada and the Order of Manitoba, Hughes has received an Honorary Doctorate of Law and The International Olympic Committee’s ‘Sport and Community’ award. She is also a two-time recipient of the ‘Spirit of Sport’ award.

Cindy Klassen - Canada’s Most Decorated Olympian, 2010 CompetitorCindy Klassen won "ve medals in the 2006 Torino Olympics, and one from Salt Lake City in 2002, making her the winner of more Olympic medals than any other Canadian athlete in history. Klassen’s remarkable climb to the top of the podium is a true inspiration. Hayley Wickenheiser - Three-Time Olympic Gold Medalist for Hockey Hayley Wickenheiser has done it again. Captain of the 2010 Women’s Olympic Hockey Team, she led the team to a 2-0 victory in the gold-medal game against the United States. Regarded as one of the best female hockey players in the world with an uncompromised determination and dedication to her sport, Wickenheiser has represented Canada at the Winter Olympics four times, capturing three gold and one silver medal. She has also captured six gold medals at the Women’s World Hockey Championships and 11 gold medals from 4 Nations Cup tournaments throughout her career. Wickenheiser is an award winner, community leader, mentor, history-maker and an accomplished business woman. Her talks on change, motivation and teamwork are truly inspiring.

Alexandre Bilodeau - First Canadian to Win a Gold Medal in a Canadian-Hosted OlympicsAlexandre Bilodeau is a Canadian freestyle skier from Montreal, Quebec. Bilodeau currently resides in Rosemere, Quebec. He won a gold medal in the men’s moguls at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver. He became the "rst Canadian to win a gold medal at an Olympics held in Canada. Bilodeau compelled our nation with his inspiring story of determination, and his personal story of the incredible support around him, including his ever smiling brother Frédéric, born with cerebral palsy.

Denny Morrison - Olympic Silver Medalist, World Champion, 2010 CompetitorDenny Morrison is writing the story of a small town boy who makes good in the big city. Growing up in Northern British Columbia, he gives the province a recognizable face and a name that everyone will get to know in Vancouver 2010. Morrison followed his Olympic silver medal performance in Torino with a breakout World Cup season and represents a new generation of emerging stars delivering podium performances in the years leading toward Canada’s Games.

Kristina Groves - Olympic Silver Medalist 2010, World Champion A native of Ottawa, Kristina Groves started skating when she was 11 because she wanted to distinguish herself from her ski-crazed family. Good news for Canada. She has earned both silver and bronze medals at the 2010 Games and was part of the Canadian squad that claimed silver in the new team pursuit event at the 2006 Olympics.

Charles Hamelin - Two -Time Olympic Gold Medalist, World ChampionAfter trading world titles in short track’s glamour event with Dancing with the Stars winner, Apolo An-ton Ohno, Charles Hamelin has won an even bigger prize - an Olympic gold medal on home ice against his wildly popular American rival . Already an Olympic Silver Medalist as part of the men’s 5000 m relay squad from the 2006 Torino Games, he is the current world record holder in the 1000. Hamelin has furthered his standings and world record titles with two gold medal wins in the 500 m and 5000 m relay at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver.

Maëlle Ricker - First Female Gold Medalist - Olympian Snowboarder, Vancouver 2010Just shy of a medal at both of her previous Olympic Games and after su!ering frustrating crashes, Maëlle Ricker thrilled Canadians as she reached the Gold Medal podium at Vancouver 2010 in front of a home crowd in British Columbia. With that win and a story of determination and persistence, Ricker became the "rst Canadian woman to earn an Olympic gold medal on home soil.

François Hamelin - Olympic Short Track Speed Skater, 2010 Competitor François Hamelin, who is just 22, has trained with and competed against his older brother and current World Champion, Charles, for the past ten years. Known for his lightning speed and intelligent strategy, Hamelin has added considerable depth to the national short track team that looks to better its fourmedal performance from Torino.

Du! Gibson - Olympic Gold Medalist, World ChampionDu! Gibson holds the distinction as the oldest (39) individual sport Winter Olympic Champion in history. His path to Olympic gold reads like a sport sampler beginning with rowing, followed by speed skating, then bobsleigh, and "nally skeleton. He captured the public’s imagination with his stirring gold medal win, which proved an emotional highlight of the Torino Games following the death of his father and mentor who lost an 11-year battle with cancer just prior to the Olympics.

Simon Whit"eld - Olympic Triathlon Gold MedalistNot once, but twice, Simon Whit"eld has thrilled Canadians with a ‘back of the pack’ "nish to win Olym-pic medals in both Beijing and Sydney, and be recognized as one of the best in the world in his triple-focus sport. In 2008, Canadians watched as near the end of the Triathlon, Whit"eld was squarely in 4th place, and it didn’t look like he was going to medal at all. But perseverance, faith and training came on strong, and he pushed forward to earn a Silver medal.

Chantal Petitclerc - Paralympic Champion and World Record HolderA paraplegic from the age of 13, Chantal discovered a passion for sports while seeking a physical activity suited to her post-accident condition. Wheelchair racing helped her to regain con"dence in her abilities and sharpened her desire to test her limits. Her coach was struck by her determination and less than a year later, Chantal competed in her "rst race. Twice breaking the world record time in the 100m and now a multiple Gold medal Paralympian, Chantal’s perseverance and discipline has allowed her to triumph over any obstacle impeding her success.

Cary Mullen - Olympian, World Cup Champion, and Performance ExpertCary Mullen, Olympian and World Cup Champion currently holds the World Downhill Speed Record for skiing 97 MPH (151 KMH) down the world’s most famous ski course in Kitzbuhel, Austria. Mullen was a non-prodigy, an underdog, who placed last in his "rst World Cup race. He followed "ve key winning strategies to go from ‘worst to "rst’ and to ultimately become a two-time Olympian and World Cup Champion.

Jean-Luc Brassard - Olympic Gold Medalist for Freestyle SkiingBilingual, articulate and full of energy, Jean-Luc Brassard knows how to captivate Canadian audiences. In 1994, thousands of Canadians followed his every move down the slopes at Lillehammer in Norway, as he struck gold in the Winter Olympics. Marc Gagnon - Most Decorated Canadian Athlete in the Olympic Winter Games’ HistoryMarc Gagnon has won every major title in short track speed skating. He is a four-time World Cup overall champion and savoured Olympic glory in 1998 and 2002. With an irreverent personality, a laid-back attitude and amazing focus Marc talks about teamwork, personal motivation, and ful"lling your dreams.

Adam Kreek - Gold Medal Olympian Adam Kreek won the hearts of Canadians during the 2008 Beijing Olympics with his powerful rendition of O Canada at the medal podium when his Men’s 8 rowing team won gold. Kreek is a sports hero who personi"es Canadian pride and the power of teamwork. He has earned a total of six Golds at the World Cup and 3 Golds at the World Championships in rowing.

Alexandre Despatie - Canada’s Diving Sensation Alexandre Despatie is one of our country’s best young athletes and he proved it again by bringing home a silver medal from the 2008 Summer Olympics. He overcame adversity to win his second career medal in the three-metre springboard diving event and add to to his impressive list of accomplishments that includes 42 Canadian national titles.

Adam van Koeverden - Triple Olympic Medalist Adam van Koeverden proudly carried the Canadian Olympic #ag during the opening ceremonies of the 2008 Summer Olympics as the popular choice for our country’s o$cial #ag bearer in Beijing. He went on to medal at these Olympics, proving to be a triple threat with three career Olympic medals - Gold, Silver and Bronze - and solidifying himself as one of the best kayakers in the world.

Steve Podborski - Downhill Skiiing “Crazy Canuck” Steve Podborski skied his way into the record books in a sport dominated by European teams. Podborski led the team dubbed the “Crazy Canucks” for their high-#ying performances on the world’s most dangerous ski hills. He was the "rst non-European man to win an Olympic medal, and the "rst to capture a World Cup Downhill title. To this day, no other North American man has won the World Cup title, a feat that Podborski accomplished no less than eight times.

Vince Poscente - Olympic Speed Skiing ChampionVince Poscente used his unique perspective on business and speed to reach the gold medal round of the Olympic speed-skiing competition only four years after deciding to compete - with no previous racing experience. Mark Tewksbury: Olympic and Humanitarian ChampionMark Tewksbury burst onto the scene at the Barcelona Olympics with a gold medal victory in the 100-metre backstroke, and would eventually retire a triple medal winner, and become a respected humanitarian champion, sharing the stage with the Dalai Lama and featured at the United Nations. An energetic and engaging storyteller, Mark’s rousing presentations use personal anecdotes to illustrate the great traits of champions and inspires us to be champions in our personal and professional lives.

Nancy Greene Raine - Canada’s Female Athlete of the Century & Senator Nancy Greene Raine, named Canada’s Female Athlete of the Century, has built a legendary course on and o! the ski slopes. Known for one of the most decisive wins in Canadian Olympic history, she took home the gold medal for speed skating in 1968, winning by a most impressive 2.68 seconds. Just last year, Greene Raine was named a senator by the prime minister’s o$ce. This 2010, Greene Raine has accepted the honour of being a torchbearer as well as the o$cial Canadian Olympic Ambassador.

Beckie Scott - Canada’s First Cross-Country Olympic Medalist Beckie Scott skied into history in 2002 as the "rst Canadian athlete to capture an Olympic medal in cross-country skiing – an honour she received more than two years after the actual race. Scott has been recognized for her charitable work and her commitment to anti-doping programs. Scott is also a member of the International Olympic Committee. She was chosen in 2002 and 2003 to receive the John Semmelink Memorial award, which honours the snow sport athlete who best represents Canada through sportsmanship, conduct and ability.

Dick Pound - Director, Vancouver Organizing Committee for 2010 Olympic and Paralympic GamesFor more than 20 years, Dick Pound has been one of the most in#uential members of the International Olympic Committee. Pound built the Olympics into a multi-billion dollar enterprise by branding and marketing the Olympic rings, and negotiating shrewd deals for television rights around the world. He has been the IOC’s top TV rights and sponsorship negotiator. Under Pound’s leadership, the IOC has grown into one of the richest sports organizations in the world. This Olymipics, Pound is the acting Director of the Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Charmaine Crooks - Five-Time Olympian and Vancouver 2010 Board MemberCharmaine Crooks is a "ve-time Olympian with the title of being the "rst Canadian woman able to run under two minutes over 800 meters. That feat won her gold medals and fame in the Commonwealth, Pan American and World Cup Games. Now Crooks is doing a di!erent kind of running; running her own sales, promotions and media relations business while serving on the board for the Vancouver 2010 Olympic & Paralympic Games Organizing Committee.

Danièle Sauvageau - Athletic and Executive CoachingDanièle Sauvageau’s passion, instinct and leadership were instrumental in the historic win by the Canadian women’s hockey team at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City. As general manager and coach, she transformed a fear of losing into an absolute desire for victory, a radical turnaround that en-abled her players to achieve their Olympic dream.

Pat Quinn - Former NHL and Team Canada Coach Pat Quinn is much more than a coach - he’s a legend. After a 20-year coaching career, he left the NHL to lead Team Canada to three gold medal wins. His success behind the bench also earned him the Head Coach position for the 2006 Olympic Games in Torino, Italy and the position as Head Coach of the Canadian National Junior team. Much of Quinn’s success is based on his coaching style - one that fostersteambuilding and mentorship.

Debbie Muir - The Coaches’ CoachWith four Olympic gold medals plus seven world championships, Debbie Muir is one of the most successful coaches of all time, with a remarkable ability to help others achieve their full potential. She co-authored with Mark Tewksbury, The Great Traits of Champions, her newest book and speaking topic on Fundamentals for Achievers, Leaders and Legacy Leavers. This season, Muir is the coach of the Canadian coaches for the 2010 Vancouver Olympic Winter Games.

Dr. Saul Miller - Performance Specialist Canada’s leading performance psychologist, Dr. Saul Miller, is dedicated to enhancing productivity within athletes. He focuses on teambuilding and helping people succeed while dealing with pressure, stress, and change. Miller has worked with many Canadian and US Olympians to help them overcome their obstacles.

Leo Rautins - Head Coach of Canadian Senior Men’s National Basketball TeamLeo Rautins was the youngest player to suit up for Canada’s National Team at the age of 16, and the "rst Canadian to be selected in the "rst round of the NBA draft. Now a coach of Canada’s national team, Rautins has set his sights on making Team Canada an international powerhouse. Beverly Thomson - Host, Canada AM - CTV The O$cial Broadcaster of the 2010 Olympic GamesBeverly Thomson began her career in radio and moved into television as a reporter and anchor for CFTO-TV, now CTV Toronto the #agship station of the CTV Television Network. She then moved to Global Television as their supper hour news anchor. Her warmth and charm has attracted immense audiences to the various newscasts that she has anchored, including news specials and election coverage. With more than "fteen years of news experience as a broadcast journalist in radio and television, Thomson is passionate about the media’s role in society.

Seamus O’Regan - Host, Canada AM - CTV The O$cial Broadcaster of the 2010 Olympic GamesSeamus O’Regan is the co-host of CTV’s Canada AM, national morning show leader. Hailing from Newfoundland, he has interviewed such newsmakers as former U.S. president Bill Clinton, prime minister Paul Martin, Bishop Desmond Tutu, Shania Twain, Conrad Black and Prince. He is one of the few journalists to have interviewed four former prime ministers -- Brian Mulroney, Kim Campbell, John Turner and Joe Clark -- together.

Brian Williams - Host, Olympic Prime Time on CTV; Vancouver 2010 Opening and Closing CeremoniesA decorated sports broadcaster for more than 30 years, Brian Williams anchored CTV’s and TSN’s prime-time Olympic Games coverage, playing a leading role in shaping and delivering the networks’ coverage of the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games and will continue to do so for the London 2012 Olympic Summer Games. Cassie Campbell - Olympic Women’s Hockey Gold Medalist and 2010 CTV AnalystCassie Campbell proved to the world that she was the ultimate captain when she led the women’s Canadian ice hockey team to a victorious gold medal win in 2002 - Canada’s "rst in hockey in 50 years. Her athletic credientials are exceptional; she’s been a member of the National Team since 1994 and she helped her team earn gold "ve times at World Championship tournaments. Her focus on teamwork shines through when she speaks about her team and those who “didn’t stop believing in one another.” In 2010 Campbell will be seen as a CTV analyst for women’s hockey.

Catriona Le May Doan - Olympic Champion & Broadcasting Co-Host of Vancouver 2010 Opening CeremoniesCatriona Le May Doan has done what no other Canadian athlete has ever accomplished, she won an Olympic Gold medal and then successfully defended her Olympic Gold title. This two-time, Olympic Gold Medalist and "ve-time World Champion is one of Canada’s most successful and highly decorated athletes. Le May Doan was a part of the Vancouver Olympic 2010 bid team and then spent three years on their Board of Directors. She joined Brian Williams and Lloyd Robertson in the broadcast booth as Co-Host of the Opening Ceremony and also served as Analyst for Long Track Speed Skating alongside Rod Smith. A popular leadership speaker, Le May Doan was also a star of both the Opening and Closing Ceremonies as part of lighting the Olympic Flame.

Aliya-Jasmine Sovani - MTV Host, Whistler Correspondent at 2010 Olympic Games Aliya-Jasmine Sovani is a host & segment producer for MTV in Canada. In addition to her hosting duties on MTV News, MTV Live, and MTV2, she is also the producer for many social issue segments on the shows.
