Fencing has been contested at every
summer Olympic games, since the birth of
the modern Olympic movement in 1896

The weapon they use is called a foil. A foil
is a light thrusting weapon. Double touches
are allowed.Fencing involves a lot of defence there
are many techniques including blocking
opponents attacks. You need to be very
focused in this sport.
The rules of modern fencing originated in Spain. The book that was written was called the treaties of arms. The treaties of arms is the rule book on everything you need to know about how to fence . The book was written by Diego de Valera. Fencing is probably one of the oldest games in existence.
JAVELINThe javelin throw is a track and field athletics throwing
event. The object to be thrown is the javelin, a spear which is 2.5 m in length.
The part where they get a run up is 30-36.5m long. They get a good run up and then lean back and thrust their javelin in to the air.
The world record for the javelin throw is 98.48 m the athlete was Jan Železný, the male world record holder. On the 25 May 1996, she was from jena, Germany. The place that held it was Atlanta in the united states.
The female world record holder is Barbora Špotáková, her record is
72.28m, she is from Stuttgart, Germany. She threw this on the 13 September 2008.
The javelin throw was a game developed
in ancient Greece from hunting and war.
Despite the javelin's long history, the
apparatus itself hasn't changed much in
a few thousand years. Just like in ancient
Greece, today the javelin throw is one of
the original events in the Olympic
Games. Javelin throwing was part of the
pentathlon in the ancient Games, while
today it's one of the track and field
events.
TRACK AND FIELDTrack and field events include throwing, running and jumping,. The
sports are held on the last couple of days of the Olympics. The concentration and determination is unbelievable. The sports they do are:
