“The world of today will not be the world of tomorrow.” – What this means in no

uncertain terms is that what we currently know may only be partially relevant or ap-

this assumption is that business school graduates have to be leaders who are prepared

Beta Gamma Sigma-BU Chapter

Advisor: Dr. Lam D. Nguyen SHRM is the world’s largest professional

association devoted to human resource

management. It serves the needs of HR

professionals by providing the most cur-

rent and comprehensive resources, while

promoting HR’s essential and strategic

role in business. The goal of SHRM’s

student chapter at BU is to provide our

students with the opportunity to gain

knowledge and insight into the field of

human resource management. SHRM

welcomes students enrolled in the HR

career concentration, as well as those

with an interest in learning more about

the HR field. The SHRM student organi-

zation holds meetings about once every

three weeks in which we bring in guest

speakers (e.g., HR professions, recent HR

graduates), listen to student presenta-

tions on their internships, and discuss

topical issues in the HR field.

Dr. Lawrence Kleiman at:

[email protected].

The officers of BU chapter of SHRM are as

follows: President: Kory Kramer, Vice

President: Brielle Felo Secretary: Kelly

Murray, and Treasury: Brian Toth.

In December of 2012, a group of motivated

students were interested in expanding oppor-

tunities related to supply chain and opera-

tions management. These fields encompass a

wide array of business activities, including

sourcing, buying, manufacturing, service op-

erations, distribution, transportation, inven-

tory management, and customer relationship

management. With the popularity of business

practices such as Just-In-Time inventory man-

agement, sustainability, lean systems, global

sourcing, and outsourcing of non-core com-

petencies, supply chain management is a crit-

ical issue, both strategically and tactically, for

any business, large or small. We currently

have 32 members who have registered with

APICS, a society with over 33,000 members

worldwide. We have an ambitious schedule

for the semester including field trips to a

manufacturing plant and a health system;

guest presentations related to manufacturing,

distribution, and buying; a case competition

and student attendance at a national confer-

ence; preparation for professional certifica-

tion exams, and multiple student-led presen-

tations on various topics such as internships

and supply chain issues. Interested students

are invited to join us for a look at what we do.

American Marketing Association adheres to

the mission that of the National Marketing

Association to serve members and be the mar-

keting source by providing networking,

knowledge and career development. While also

providing students with opportunities to better

prepare them for entering the work force.

The chapter competes with other chapters at

the annual AMA collegiate conference in areas

such as best trade show booth, sales, marketing

simulations, and case analysis. During the

semester the chapter focuses on professional

development activities, community service

activities and fund raising.

over her academic career here at BU, students, faculty, and staff we all have stories about special

times with her. Professor Wynn, we admire your commitment and hard work to the university, the

college, your colleagues, and more importantly to the students. You have been instrumental in

making our department the best in the college and one of the best in the university. It’s impossible

to measure what you meant to us all these years. And I know I speak for everyone when I say this

is a bittersweet moment….saying goodbye to a dear friend and colleague who has meant so much

to us. But we are all happy that you will have time to kick back, pursue new dreams and enjoy your

family.

We wish you all the best.

Each team had to present their comprehensive analysis of Netflix and

recommend strategic actions for the company in front of an experienced

panel of judges in 15 minutes followed by a Q&A session. Society for

Advancement of Management (SAM) was founded in 1912 by the col-
