Mission Statement
We the people of Old Mission Santa Inés, following the path of Jesus Christ, are making His vision a reality through
love, unity, justice, joy and hope.
FROM OUR PASTOR
TODAY
The second collection this weekend, December 1 & 2, will be for the Religious Education Program. Thank you for your generosity.
May the Lord make you in-crease and abound in love for one another and for all. This is what St. Paul says to the Thes-salonians, and it is a good thought for the beginning of Advent. All the parties and parades before Christmas don’t mean anything if they don’t help us to love one another more deep-ly. But the good news: God can work not only despite but even within all the activity at this time of year to help us learn what it means to love. After all, that bell-ringing Santa can be a good re-minder, “As long as you did it for one of my least brothers and sis-
ters, you did it for me.”
Next Saturday is the Feast of the Immaculate Con-ception. Since Our Lady is in-voked as patron-ess of the United States under this title, it is always a Holy Day of Obligation for
US Catholics. Unfortunately, be-cause of the Solvang Christmas parade we will not be able to have a noon Mass that day. Please come either on Friday evening or Saturday morning to pray together on this Holy Day. May the Lord help us all prepare His way here at Mission Santa Inés!
Fr. Bobby

OUR HOLY FATHER'S INTENTIONS FOR DECEMBER
Evangelization – In the Service of the Transmission of Faith. That people, who are involved in the service and transmission of faith, may find, in their dialogue with culture, a language suited to the conditions of the present time.
Did you know? Hotel safety tips for the holiday season. Thanksgiv-ing and Christmas are popular travel times, as people gather with family and friends to celebrate the holi-days. For many people, that means trading in the routines and estab-lished safety practices of home for time spent in a hotel. If you and your children are staying in a hotel, take a few minutes to go over the escape route in the event of a fire or emergency. Show your children how to dial out from the room —to call 911. December – Celebrating the Motherhood of Mary
We will pray a novena to the Immaculate Conception Novem-ber 30 to December 8. The novena prayer will be recited at the 8:00 AM weekday Mass immediately following Holy Com-munion (and at all the Masses on Sunday at the same time.) An altar to our Lady of Lourdes (who revealed herself as the Im-maculate Conception) will be placed near the pulpit with a pe-tition book and small votive candles for lighting. Should you not be able to attend, copies of the novena prayer will be at the back of the church for your private devotion.
Advent and Christmas Bilingual Reconciliation Service will be
Wednesday, December 5 at 7:00PM, in the church. Please come and join us as we prepare ourselves to celebrate the birth of our Lord, Jesus Christ.
Pictures of your deceased loved ones that have been displayed in the church during the month of November can be picked up at the parish office.

NOTICIAS
Fray Roberto
