Earn troop funds: Sell Girl Scout Cookies in the Girl Scout exhibit area. Volunteer: Work as an activity assistant. Girl and adult help also needed for special day programs. Carry the banner and flag: Show your Girl Scout pride by participating in the daily parade. Visit the Girl Scout exhibit area during the fair and participate in daily events. First place winners will then compete for trophies, awards, and a $25 cash grand prize! at one of our special days Join Girl Scouts Speech Competition: This year’s speech competition topic is: "How Girl Scouts Makes Me Proud to Be an American." All speeches should be five to seven minutes in length. Talent Competition: Showcase your talent on stage! There are a variety of categories to enter. Ugly Cake Contest: Categories exist for girls and adults to create and decorate the ugliest cake they can imagine. Flag Ceremony Competition: Honor your country and participate in this competition. There will be cash prizes and medals awarded to the top three groups. Minute to Win It: Match your skills against the clock in this competition based on the game show Minute to Win It. Duct Tape Creations: Are you a duct tape artist? Put your skills to the test and create a masterpiece entirely from duct tape. Cookie Culinary Contest: Bake up something delicious using Girl Scout Cookies as an ingredient! Cupcake Wars: Think you can take the heat? Try your hand at decorating a cupcake on the spot! NEW Float Decorating Contest Troops can submit a design/theme for decorating the float used by Girl Scouts during the daily state fair parade. The committee will choose the winning design and the winning troop will decorate the float the weekend before the fair opens on July 25. The winning troop will receive a cash prize of $100, additional money for supplies, and recognition on the float. Patches! Anyone visiting the Girl Scout exhibit area can purchase a commemorative patch. Enter a project in the fair AND march in one of the parades to satisfy the key requirements to earn a special patch available only at the fair. Everyone is welcome to participate in the fun of STEM! Dairy Detective Visit any of several tables in the the booth and learn about milk and other dairy products. Ready, Set, Go Camping Explore the world of wilderness skills in this exciting indoor twist on outdoor fun. Play games, make a track book, and do activities designed to show how fun the outdoors can be! Art Day Get creative and try many different forms of media throughout the Youth Center during Art Day! Letterboxing Day Letterboxing is an amazing adventure game played by people all over the world. Use your curiosity and join in by following clues to find hidden boxes with special items inside!
