OFFICIAL COMPETITION RULES AND REGULATIONS

1. This contest is open to businesses, organizations, and individuals. Your creation does not have to be a house. It can be any gingerbread structure that your imagination can come up with!

2. Fill out an entry form and return to Discovery Cube LA along with your creation by December 4, 2021.

3. All entries must be dropped off from November 20 - December 4, 2021 between the hours of 11am and 4pm, excluding Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 25, 2021.

4. Entries will be displayed starting November 20, 2021 through January 2, 2022. All entries must remain at Discovery Cube during this time period.

5. Creations must be constructed mainly of gingerbread, candies and icing. Please consider longevity when creating your structure. Discovery Cube will apply treatment to your structure once it goes on display, so it will no longer be edible after you turn it in.

6. The entire visual display must be made of edible materials with the exception of the surface it is mounted upon. Non-visible interior supports of other materials are allowed.

7. The gingerbread display must be mounted on a solid base, at a 30” x 30” maximum. Exceptions may be made under prior arrangements. Please contact us at 818.686.2823.

8. All entries should be kid/family friendly. Discovery Cube reserves the right to not accept or remove any entries deemed inappropriate or in disrepair.

9. Winners will be announced at our Gingerbread Awards Ceremony and notified by mail no later than December 18, 2021.

10. Entries will be judged on creativity, construction, decoration detail, use of gingerbread, color and adherence to guidelines.

11. All entries will be disposed of at the end of the exhibition. Special accommodations for pickup on January 4, 2022 can be made under prior agreements on or before December 26, 2021. Please call 818.686.2851.

12. Each submission will receive an invite to RSVP to our exclusive Gingerbread Awards Ceremony held on Saturday, December 11 from 5:30pm-7:30pm, up to 4 guests per submission. Additional guests may purchase discounted tickets at $10 each (valid for event only).

13. Invite your family and friends to visit the Science of Gingerbread from November 20, 2021- January 2, 2022.
