Training Officers Consortium 2020-2021 Program Year#TOCCommunity
Dear TOC Registrants and Friends,
The beginning of 2020 has truly been a strange year for all of us! We missed seeing you each month, but hope you enjoyed connecting with us during the monthly webinars and our monthly newsletter.
As we embark upon our 82nd Program Year, we hope that you will join us. Registration is now open! This year’s programs will run from August 2020-June 2021. Our theme will remain unchanged:
Workforce 2021: Igniting the Flame; Carrying the Torch. This year, the TOC Executive Board has some exciting things in store for our registrants. Registration remains the same as last year: $1,595 for a full registration which includes:
• A virtual learning environment of seminars and webinars;• Discussion panels on current topics of interests;• Dynamic, engaged presenters;• Social networking events; and• 2021 Annual Institute in Williamsburg, VA , April 25-28, 2021.
TOC remains by far the best value for your dollar and continues to be committed to the Federal, private, and academic learning and development communities. Not knowing what’s on the horizon, we know that we may face some challenges. But we are forward-thinking and will be ready!
We look forward to learning with you throughout the year beginning with our opening program on Wednesday, August 19, 2020.
TOC Chair, Trina Petty

TOC Family and Friends,
In light of current social injustices and protests calling for change, the Training Officers Consortium Board Members feel it is important to take a stand. TOC is an inclusive community, actively anti-racism. We stand firmly against any aggression, bias or action that oppresses others. One small step we hope you were able to take part in was last month’s moment of silence. Though we could not stand together in person, TOC felt we were together in spirit – with a renewed sense that this community is committed to sharing this burden, knowing that it’s easier for us to carry together.
As we search for an outlet for what we are feeling, like our collective moment of silence, let us all commit to identifying actions that we can take as individuals and as a community to building a future based on the highest ideals of equality, fairness, and justice. Here’s incredible content available from the National Mu-seum of African American History and Culture entitled Talking About Race— https://nmaahc.si.edu/learn/talking-about-race that provides insightful tools as well as guidance to empower your journey and inspire conversation.
We welcome everyone just as they are and hope you stand with us.
Please take care of yourselves, your families, friends, and loved ones.
