CHURCH PLANTING
We are fortunate to have an association filled with pastors and leaders who are committed to planting new churches and replanting churches who are near the end of their life cycle. Planting new churches is an effective and biblical method to plant the gospel among unreached people in our region. Replanting declining churches is likewise a strategic way to reach people and make much of God as the church in decline returns to growth and impact on its community.
Your BRKC Association provides a pathway to assessment, coaching and placement for church planters as well as coaching and consultation for churches who desire to plant churches. We can also
–42–
help you navigate the process of connecting to the many different networks and resource channels for church planting. This year your Association was blessed to have served more than 25 churches and church planters in their task of reaching our area with the gospel. We also realized several new church plants this year.
We call the replanting of declining churches Legacy Church Planting and your Association is committed to helping any church that desires to replant itself accomplish that task. Your Association has provided one on one consultation to 10 churches in decline who are considering replanting themselves. We stand ready and able to help any church who seeks this assistance.
In addition your Association sponsors a network called plantKC. It is a local church planting network that seeks to encourage and equip Gospel-centered, reproducing churches. We actively recruit, equip, coach, and deploy young church planters in the Kansas City area by providing quarterly training events, connecting planters to qualified coaching, and identifying funding sources for new works. Our network has hosted 3 educational/networking events this year and has 2 more scheduled in October and November. These quarterly training events are a great opportunity for more than 70 key church planting leaders and pastors to connect and learn about increasing their capacity for ministry.
It’s a joy to serve alongside the amazingly committed and passionate people of our association as we plant and replant churches.
