Re think Light. Think Philips.LED Solutions for OEM Applications
Light has long been considered a utility – something we turn
on, of and dim without a thought. But rapidly-advancing LED
technology makes it possible to rethink the way we use light
entirely: a home air reshener doubles as a color-changing light
show, a surgical light seamlessly shits rom “cool” to “warm”
white light or more precise examination o human tissue,
low-resolution video streams across a backdrop curtain at a
concert. LED technology makes these applications possible
today, and Philips has the expertise to deliver.
By rethinking light, our OEM partners have diferentiated
themselves in a number o markets. Our services range rom the integration o existing technology to the development o
customized solutions. In addition to providing OEM solutions,
we also ofer comprehensive design and integration support
to help our partners achieve success in delivering their new
LED-based products.

Think LEDs are just or ashlights and cell phone displays? Think again.
Once relegated to humble indicator lights in electronic devices, LEDs
have advanced at remarkable rates to enable an entirely new category
o lighting that’s projected to reach $30 billion by 2025.These very same sources will one day light our homes and everyday
spaces. Why? Because they’re highly efcient, long lasting, environmentally
riendly and inherently controllable – enabling both new and traditional
applications o light. Promising uture aside, LED systems already illuminate
amous buildings, bridges, retail shops, television studios, theater stages, ho-
tels, casinos, hospitals, restaurants and stylish nightclubs around the world.
LED technology surpasses the constraints o today’s lighting conventions,
including limitations posed by product size, source lie, heat emission,
and lack o simple control. We can put light where it was previously
Why LEDs?
impossible or impractical: in tight spaces, built into urnishings, toys or
compact devices. As inherently digital light sources, LEDs are capable o
digital control, which makes them uniquely suited or generating wide-
ranging visual eects. But they’re also smart rom an operational standpoint. They consume
less energy and last much longer than most conventional light sources,
they radiate no heat or UV , contain no mercury, and require littlerays
maintenance. The result? A true “win win” in terms o achieving precise
aesthetics while reducing lighting costs and complexity.
With our time-tested approach, proprietary technologies and proven track
record, Philips is uniquely able to deliver the right LED solution and support
or OEM partners within and beyond the lighting industry.
