October 2016 Monthly Newsletter It’s been a very busy month! The Board of Directors and I have been working very hard on our largest fundraiser of the year, Wild Game Dinner. Tickets are available for sale at the Chamber office as well as Mason Feed Store on Saturday mornings. Proceeds from this event help maintain Chamber office expenses and promote tourism to Mason. I would like to take this time to introduce you to our Board of Directors: President – Brandy Neece, Vice President – Sabin Nelson, Treasurer – Chad Schmidt, Secretary –Monica Hinckley, Christina Gonzales, Jared Henrich, Crockett Keller, Robert Owens, Traci Cavaness and Brandon Willis. They are a hard working group of volunteers that are passionate about Mason and want to see Mason flourish. The Board is working hard by bringing new ideas and dedicating that time to see that these ideas help our businesses and encourage tourism. This year has been a year full of change and improvements. Without the support of the Board, these enhancements would not have been possible. We continue to work hard for the community of Mason. This past month, we welcomed The Fulton B&B as a new member. For more information about The Fulton, please visit our website at www.masontxcoc.com or contact the Chamber @ 325- 347-5758. We welcomed 178 visitors to the Chamber office in September. These visitors came from Plano, Georgetown, Johnson City, Austin, Fredericksburg, Diana, Corpus Christi, Dallas, Houston, Abilene, Tomball, Waco, New Braunfels, Sherman, Clifton, Valley Milk, Kerrville, Las Cruces NM, San Diego CA, Napa, CA, Aruba and Caravassio Italy. The Mason County Chamber of Commerce received 298 phone calls and 27 email requests seeking information for lodging, restaurants, museums, topaz, plumbers, hunting, RV parks, Mason history, Wild Game Dinner and much more. October 13th we will be holding our quarterly Mixer at Mason County Craftsman. Come out and help celebrate their one year of business here in Mason with a little gumbo and beverages! Hope to see you all there! If you are not currently a member of the Chamber, we would love to have you! Membership to the Mason Chamber of Commerce provides referrals, gives credibility to your business, provides marketing and advertising avenues and offers sponsorship opportunities. The Chamber’s website provides information and links to each of our members. We offer lobby service where a member of our Chamber can leave their business cards or business brochures on display. All new members receive a ribbon cutting event which includes a photo in the Mason County News with information about your business. Our Facebook page has over 900 followers (and growing), making this a great advertising opportunity. We will post requested information, events, etc. Since we are a Visitor Center as well as a Chamber, many times this is the first place a visitor to town stops. We make sure that our visitors as well as local individuals are aware of our businesses, events and sights of interest. As I mentioned earlier, we are here to work for you. Please stop by for a visit or give us a call at 325-347-5758.

It’s been a very busy month! The Board of Directors and I have been working very hard on our largest fundraiser of the year, Wild Game Dinner. Tickets are available for sale at the Chamber

office as well as Mason Feed Store on Saturday mornings. Proceeds from this event help maintain Chamber office expenses and promote tourism to Mason. I would like to take this time
