D E A R F R I E N D S ,

October is always an amazing time for K-LOVE. If you’re on our staff, you know what I mean! It’s an amazing time because our staff is given the privilege of talking with and hearing the stories of K-LOVE listeners who are supporting the ministry and oftensharing incredible stories of how God has used the station in their lives.

Pledge Drive can also be stressful! We are reminded of our struggle to keep this stationon the air by the challenges that seem to pop up often during our drives. That’s okay!Over the years our staff has come to expect challenges and it’s all the more rewardingwhen after prayer and more prayer, we see victory after victory during Pledge Drive.

We know that God could use anyone or anything to share the message of Jesus with the world. It’s our privilege and honor to be vessels that, for this season, He seems to beusing. We are eternally grateful to God for the opportunity. We are also thankful to youfor your trust and partnership with all of us here at K-LOVE!

Blessings,

David PierceK-LOVEChief Creative Officer

Life throws us all kinds of challenges, but what happens when we throw a challenge back? Each Monday on myKLOVE we do just that. Together we take challenges that allow us to grow closer to God and share fellowship.

Recently for KING & COUNTRY challenged our community to take time and fix our eyes on Jesus even when life is not fair, based on their song “Fix My Eyes.”

Who took the challenge? 2,500 listeners did! Many shared their thoughts, too ...

In Sioux Falls, South Dakota, underneath the shelter of tarps and umbrellas, thousands of attendees stood in the pouring rain for one purpose – to worship our Lord and Savior. From August 29th to the 31st, the LifeLight Festival was filled with ministry, music, and activity as lives were changed and hearts were lifted.

LifeLight’s Mission Statement, “Taking the Church outside the walls,” (John 8:12) has never been seen more clearly than it was through the mud and downpour of their sixteenth annual festival. And though LifeLight is the largest free music festival in the world – it’s so much more.

From Missions, Tours, and Community Events both nationally and internationally, LifeLight is reaching

and rescuing people for Christ through relevant means to impact millions across the globe both now, and for eternity. With such an incredible opportunity at a one of a kind festival, we were very excited about getting involved. The K-LOVE tent was located in the large field that contained the main stage and had three theme days honoring the K-LOVE Cruise, K-LOVE Racing, and

K-LOVE Fan Awards. The tent was decorated each day around the theme with hosted activities that related to the theme. The K-LOVE tent also hosted artists for up close and personal Q&A times where attendees could learn more about their favorite artists. As people stopped by they were greeted warmly by our Events Team who worked non-stop through three days of rain and mud to make sure everyone got a hands-on, personable, and welcoming experience with our ministry. “It was amazing to hear people’s stories of how our stations have impacted their lives,” says Norm McDonald, Art Director for K-LOVE. One thing is for sure; a little rain didn’t dim the bright light of Christ that shone throughout the Festival.

The Digital Age is a worship band from a little church in Waco, Texas. Mark, the lead singer, shares how this band loves to sing songs that simply proclaim truth. They had been searching for a song that would articulate just how the name of Jesus is powerful, and sure enough this song came along through a friend that said just that. If you’re facing a difficult time in your life, you know you can just say the name of Jesus. He came to set you free and the weight behind His name can break every chain in your life.

K I M ’ S S T O R Y“My husband was diagnosed with a terminal brain tumor on May 9. From that day until November 15 when he passed away, K-LOVE was on the radio or computer 24-7. We listened to it at the doctors, at chemo and at radiation. God ministering to us through music, it calmed my husband. He knew where he was going and the music helped reassure him it was going to be ok. When we were in the hospice house, the song came on called “When the Healing Doesn’t Come.” Such a powerful song played at just the right time. Thank you K-LOVE, for providing hope.”

HOUSTONCITYPACKWe were honored once again to partner with Feed My Starving Children in Houston, Texas to help pack meals for those in desperate need. Kalmaegi, a fast-moving typhoon, which slammed into the northeastern Philippines last month causing landslides, flash floods and storm surges, depleted the emergency food sources to help those who were suffering already. Houston was just one of the stops that helped refill their supplies. Over 4,100 volunteers showed up to show support and packed 1,251,936 meals in two days feeding 3,430 kids for a year. Our events team joined hands and hearts to make a difference by being on site to not only encourage but to be a face of hope to those giving of their time for such a worthy cause.

“I still do,” “We still do.” That was the resounding theme throughout the day as speakers, authors, and many musical-worship guests joined with 3,000 married couples who had a date at the All State Arena in Chicago, Illinois. Family Life Ministries presented the opportunity for many couples to enjoy a day to grow in love and strengthen their marriage. It was a sight to behold and we were honored to be a part of it.

As hundreds of participants stopped by the K-LOVE booth, our team was able to connect them to our myKLOVE app and enter them in our text-to-win for a “Couples Prize Pack.” One testimony that truly impacted us was a woman who shared how K-LOVE had ministered to her through a very abusive marriage. The songs played on air each day reminded her that there was hope ahead, and that God had a better future waiting for her. She is now in her 50’s, along with her new husband, who were newlyweds at the conference.

In 1982, KCLB began as a small station in Northern California. Six years later, it changed it’s name to K-LOVE and adopted the legendary slogan “Encouraging Words, Positive Music.” That was the humble beginnings of the Contemporary Christian Radio Station known as K-LOVE, that would eventually carry the message of Jesus to millions.

To run such a large radio network takes a multitude of highly skilled individuals who are not only committed to the vision of K-LOVE, but who also have the technical expertise to get things done. Through not only developing and constructing our “radio in a box”, that is shipped out across the country and placed in our broadcast sites, our entire engineering department are the ones we depend on each day to make sure that our radio signals are being transmitted to our listening audience of over 22 million without any glitches. With over 60 highly qualified individuals under the skilled leadership of our Vice-President of Engineering Sam Wallington, who has been with

K-LOVE since 1993, we are assured each day that the message of hope will reach into the hearts of listeners throughout the globe.

The “radio in the box” as Sam refers to it, is a tall metal tower measuring approximately 7 feet, which can be placed upon a mountainside, or within a small-enclosed building. This box which is constructed by our broadcast technicians, houses over 20 different radio components along with numerous wires and splitters allowing us to broadcast from our primary hub in Rocklin, California to 722 K-LOVE and Air1 stations and translators across the entire United States.

“I love to come to work knowing that what we all do encourages over 22 million people every week, and that I get to play a role in building that trust between listener and station”, says Sam.

K-LOVE is constantly growing everyday with the hope of adding more stations and translators that will share the message of God’s love, and we can thank our engineering department for their expertise in getting this done.

S A N C T U S R E A LSanctus Real is a group that has endured their share of heartbreaks as well as joys. From lead singer Matt Hammit walking through the near loss of his child Bowen, to the entire band most recently experiencing their tour bus going up in flames, their songs express the real life experiences that we all face as believers, and how God still ultimately leads us through them. Their songs cover subjects like failing as a leader in the home, the beauty of forgiveness, and the hard questions that God sometimes seems unwilling to answer—all through the lense of God’s redemptive grace.

As their music is played on K-LOVE, it reaches into the hearts of our listeners to encourage and brings hope to desperate situations they may be facing. Sanctus Real has consistently brought audiences closer to God through music since 2002, and continue to do so. We are excited to partner with them as we play their music on air and watch lives change.
