VICTORIOUS SURRENDER We have all fought our battles, on the field, in court, in homes, at our workplac-es, and in our own hearts and minds. We

have won some and lost some, but few have required the persis-tence evidenced in Exodus and Luke. Are we even capable of such persistence? Perhaps we are if the battle is about something so central, so vital, that we are willing to go to any lengths to win. But what would such a thing be? As the psalm makes clear, God is capable of such persistence, especially when what is so central, so vital to God is us. God is the unrelenting widow and we are the dishonest judge. God is Moses standing firm despite weariness. We are so central to God's plan of salvation that nothing will stand in God's way of safeguarding us, not even our own weaknesses, shortcomings, and sins. Like the dishonest judge, we should just surrender and accept God's passionate and persistent love.

RENDICIÓN VICTORIOSA Todos hemos tenido nuestras batallas, en el trabajo, en los juzga-dos, en nuestros corazones y mentes. Quizá ganamos unas y perdimos otras, pero pocas tuvieron que requerir la persistencia evidenciada en Éxodo y en Lucas. ¿Somos capaces de dicha persistencia? Quizás lo somos si la batalla es por algo vital, im-portante, y estamos dispuestos a luchar sin importar lo que cueste con tal de ganar. ¿Pero qué sería aquello por lo que luche-mos? Así como el salmo lo dice claramente, Dios es capaz de tal persistencia, especialmente cuando aquello que es importante y vital para Dios somos nosotros. Dios es la viuda perseverante y nosotros somos el juez deshonesto. Dios es Moisés perman-eciendo firme pese al cansancio. Somos tan importantes para el plan de salvación de Dios que nada se interpondrá en el camino de Dios que nos salvaguarde, ni siquiera nuestras debilidades, defectos y pecados. Como el juez deshonesto, debemos rendirnos y aceptar el amor persistente y apasionado de Dios.
