• What you’re learning:– Drawing techniques (graphing for proportion,

values, shading, realism)– Composition (how you set up your page)– About Pablo Picasso & Cubism– Creating a sense of discomfort and “unease” with

imagery (engage the viewer/artist voice)– Practice not being worried if you don’t look “pretty”

if it means creating an emotion within your art.

1. Take your photos in 2-3 anglesOne will be a “smooshed” view

2. Cut apart and arrange your pictures in an interesting way. COMPOSITION!!!

3. Use a grid to graph the photo collage. Draw it square by square.

You will NOT see the grid when you are done!!

(Unless you come up with something really different)

Materials: Drawing pencils (Black, white, grey)

• Want to use color? Convince me that there’s a reason! – Consider ACCENT COLORS only. Mixed with and

shading like pencil.• Paper size will all be the same.

• ‘Shattered’ or fragmented objects and shapes. Typically more geometric in shape. Imagine broken glass!
