EMORY DANIEL HAMILTON, was born February 27, 1942 to Joseph andCleo Hamilton. He “gained his wings” on Sunday, March 5, 2017, completing that journey that delivers the soul to GOD.

Emory was united in Holy Matrimony to Corene Reynolds on July 12, 1969. To this union, they were blessed with two lovely daughters, Sharon andKenya.

After graduating from high school, Emory attended Bethune CookmanUniversity in Daytona Beach, Florida. He was owner/operator of KSCHTrucking for 35 years. He was currently owner/operator of C & H Liquor ofDonalsonville, Georgia.

Emory Hamilton gave his life to CHRIST and joined Saint MatthewMissionary Baptist Church, where he served as Church Usher for many years. Even though he was not actively affiliated with his church during his latteryears, he devoted his life to rendering service to others who were in need.

Emory Daniel Hamilton was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Cleo Hamilton, one sister, Helen Greene, and one brother, James Hamilton.

As he was joyfully welcomed by those who had transitioned before him, heleaves to cherish beautiful, fond memories—his loving wife of 46 years,Corene Reynolds Hamilton; daughters, Sharon Lowe (Lawrence) ofTallahassee, Florida and Kenya Hamilton of Albany, Georgia; son, DemetriusHamilton Sr. of Tampa, Florida; grandchildren: Kennedi Williams ofAlbany, Georgia, Cierra Welch of Tampa, Florida, and Demetrius HamiltonJr. of Tampa, Florida; niece/goddaughter, Dominique Reynolds ofDonalsonville, Georgia; sisters: Josephine Hamilton Greene (Willie) of FortMyers, Florida, Rhonda Graham, and Renita Shelton, both of Dayton, Ohio;brother, Yancy Hamilton (Danotta) of Dayton, Ohio; adopted sisters, MaggieAdkins and Cheryl Lynn Holloway, both of Fort Myers, Florida; sisters-in-law: Margaret Bryant (LiNorma), Louise Reynolds, and Debra Carr;brothers-in-law: Melvin Groomes (Ollie), Donnie Brown (Betty), RickyBrown, Sarjer Williams, Willie R. Moore (Terrie), Johnny C. Reynolds, andCalvin Brown (Linda); aunt-in-law, Annie Lou Collier; uncle-in-law, JohnReynolds; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousin and friends.

FOR MY PAPA

I know we are all feeling a little bit sad, That we’ve lost my Papa.

Together we have cried an ocean of tears As we feel so empty and hold many fears

But Papa would want us to know he’s in a good place,

And that he’s watching us all with a smile on his face

As we have made him so proud, as proud as can be,

That he has raised such a beautiful and special family

Thinking back now I really must say,

I feel lucky and privileged to have known Papa to this day

For in my life, you have played a special part,

The memories I will treasure and keep close to my heart

Although he has gone, we will always be together,

And his spirit will live on in me forever

When I look to the sky, I look for the brightest star,

As that will be Papa looking down on me from afar

And now I would like to thank THE GOOD LORD ABOVE,

For blessing me with my Papa, with his kindness and love

Dear GOD, if it is not too much fuss,

Take extra special care of my Papa, for he is very dear to me

Papa, if you are listening, say a prayer for me every day,

Be sure to protect me and guide me on my way

I know when GOD called you Home on Sunday morning, you had to go,

It’s never the right time to say goodbye.We will miss you, Dad, and here is why.

You taught us so much:To show no fear, to always have fun,

and face the day with cheer.

You were always so able, so fast and so strong, in your little girls’ eyes you could do no wrong.You would always listen, and you never pried.You were the arms around us when we cried.

You never looked for praises,and you were never one to boast.

You were always therefor those you loved the most.

You worked so hard,and those strong working hands,

led us through life and helped us understand.That life can be hard, and tough and sad,

but through it all we had our Dad.

And because of you, we understood, that life was actually pretty good.

We believe in you and will follow your path,and when things go wrong, we’ll look back and laugh.

We hope you can hear us so we can let you knowthat you were and will forever

be our “Superhero”.So yes, today we are full of sorrow,

but we will smile a little morewith each tomorrow.
