    Summary Winter Storm Warnings and Winter Weather

    Advisories continue for central NY throughThursday morning.

    A very complex winter storm will occur todaywith multiple precipitation types.

    Snow this morning across the far north, withrain elsewhere. A gradual transition today from

    rain to snow, from northwest to southeast. The heaviest snowfall rates will occur this

    afternoon and evening.

    Turning VERY windy by early tonight withrapidly falling temperatures and blowing snow.

    Whatever is wet will freeze by early tonight.Lows tonight mainly in the single digits.

    Snow tapers off later tonight.

    Impacts

    Heavy snow will make travel difficult todayand tonight in central NY, and later thisevening in northeast PA.

    Very strong winds will blow and drift thesnow around, by early tonight.

    Dropping temperatures and strong winds

    tonight will cause wind chill temperaturesto approach -15 tonight.

    Rapidly falling temperatures will cause aflash freeze

    later this afternoon and earlytonight.

    Wind gusts to 35 mph from late thisafternoon through early tonight.
