Ian Clarke is an experienced contractemployee with Taylor Made. He is amobile tech rep who goes from course tocourse with a full range of their equip-ment. “ We do a lot of club fitting and demo

days mostly around Southern Ontario. Thepro am participants are here today and we

make ourselves available to them forhelp.” said Ian Clarke.

Taylor Made is in the process of buildinga number of fitting centers across Canada.Currently there are two in the Torontoarea. The next will be in Vancouver.“ We put many cameras on the wall and

you wear a special suit. It shows yourswing impact point and face angle in 3D.It is a 100% precise measurement that

allows the fitter to look at the personsswing and access what the angle of attackis as well as the angle of the ball comingoff the club face. It allows the fitter to putthe person into equipment that will suittheir swing,” said Clarke.“ We can onlywork with their current swing. With ouradjustable woods as the player progressthrough the summer and starts to improveor his ball flight changes we can changethe club to suit the new swing including

shaft angle of attach, angle the ball comesoff the club face and swing plane. Thetwo things that really affect the flight ofthe ball are the swing plane and clubfaceangle. You can work to change the ballflight. We work with what comes out ofthe computer and then with the adjustabil-ity of the equipment we work from thereas the player progress.”

The general public can use the TaylorMade system. They may recommend lessirons and more hybrids. The fitting processtakes place with wedges and putter as well.Taylor Made in Southern Ontario werecomplimenting the Taylor Made truck onsite this week for the tour guys.
