A Conservation OrientatedOrganisation

Towards Establishing A Solar PioneerIn the Golfing Industry

Page 2: singapore golfing - a conservation approach

Introduction

The future of golf clubs around the world hangs in the balance asthey attempt to carefully manage credibility and recreational demandsin an environment where pressures from competition, demography and

changing societal values continue to increase

Recently, market analysts have revealed their difficulties include “a function of negative public attitudes, despite the shift in theseattractions postures to recognise their efforts in conservation”

Innovation Towards Conservation

Green technology can be applied

Solar-Driven Asia is interested in applying a new idea, system, thought processes and a new wayto do things to improve sustainability for Golf Club’s

Conservation InnovationA Golf Industry Initiative

This recommendation will make significant improvements and positive impact through the aspects of:

Energy- Renewable Energy- Energy Conservation (better use of electrical energy)- Energy Storage (improved quality of charge)- Energy Storage (improved life-span of batteries)

Emission Control- Environmental & Pollution Control (build up of explosive hydrogen and oxygen gas)- Waste Management (frequency of battery disposal)- Toxic Waste Management

Product & System Design- Conservation of Land, Coastline and Wildlife Habitat

Sustainability Improvement and Lower Energy Utilization

Energy- Renewable Energy

The Golf Course Buggy Trail is mostly over clear and unsheltered skies providing an excellent charging opportunity both during use and when stationary

The available sunlight is almost always converted to electricity by the solar cells, temporarily stored in accumulator batteries, and used to drive the buggy’s electric motor

The SolarDrive System will manage the fluctuations with the intensity of the irradiated light across the day

The power level generated is anticipated to be 90 Watts. SolarDrive installations have been successfully carried out in the United States, Europe, Australia and China.

Sustainability Improvement and Lower Energy Utilization

Energy- Energy Conservation (better use of electrical energy)

The existing installation in Hong Kong has recorded the batteries returning with charge levels that are averagely drawn down by 15%. The norm for draw down is averagely 70% to depletion

The SolarDrive System will see golf buggy’s return from the course with at least 5 times more charge

Our system will see charge times reduced by at least 3 fold. Resulting in a much reduced electricity power consumption bill and improved operational capability

Page 7: singapore golfing - a conservation approach

Sustainability Improvement and Lower Energy Utilization

Energy- Energy Storage (improved quality of charge)

The ‘deep charging’ that occurs as a consequence of high voltage electrical grid charging will result in shorter charge duration of batteries

This is akin to pouring a glass of beer badly

This is what Deep Charging DoesIt is Quick and Full of Foam

Page 8: singapore golfing - a conservation approach

Sustainability Improvement and Lower Energy Utilization

Energy- Energy Storage (double the life-span of batteries)

The battery life-span is increase considerably as a consequence of trickle charge and power management technology provided by the SolarDrive Power Control Consol

Battery is currently 24 months. The SolarDrive System will extend useful life of batteries by another two years

Page 9: singapore golfing - a conservation approach

Better Emission Control and Environmental Protection

Emission Control- Environmental & Pollution Control (build up of explosive hydrogen and oxygen gas)

With shallow charging from the Solar System this will see the a significant reduction in the build up of explosive hydrogen and oxygen gases. This will add to the safer operations and management of buggy’s in the charging area

The expected reduction of gas build up will by about 70 %

Page 10: singapore golfing - a conservation approach

Better Emission Control and Environmental Protection

Emission Control- Waste Management (frequency of battery disposal)

The fewer batteries disposed the less the potential problems and hazard footprint it leaves on the environment:

- Pollution of lakes and streams as the metals vaporize into the air when burned - Contribution to heavy metals that potentially may leak from solid waste landfills - Exposure to the environment and water, lead and acid

- Leakage of strong corrosive acids that may cause burns to eyes and skin.

Better Emission Control and Environmental Protection

Emission Control- Toxic Waste Management

By adoption of this solar system we will be taking steps in the right direction towards providing a waste management structure that lessens the load on municipal landfills and incinerators, thus achieving stronger safeguards for public health and the environment

Knowledge from Multiple Disciplines Advances Product Development and Optimizes Design

Product & System Design- Conservation of Land, Coastline and Wildlife Habitat

Green infrastructure is critical to the underpinnings of Natural Life Support System.

The less the impact that the Golf Course has on the environment the better it will be for the health of an interconnected network of waterways, wetlands, coastline and wildlife habitats

Our solar system’s design is a seamless integration into the current Golf Buggy Fleet
