The contents of the twenty-two chapters constantly remind one of the exacting prepa- ration for all nursing arts procedures, either directly or indirectly relating to patient care. The various procedures and guides for the preoperative trays are skillfully written. The chapters on laboratory examinations are simply defined and easily understood. The author has accomplished her goal in producing a guide for student nurses which relates to nursing procedures. In addition, she enables her American counterpart to gain an insight into nursing as it is currently prac- ticed in England. Although essentially written for student nurses, the book could be utilized This book is an excellent teaching tool for nursing students. The first 100 pages are de- voted to injection techniques, weights and measures and certain general jurisprudence pertaining to nursing, pharmacy and medi- cine. Each chapter has a quiz which is de- signed to encourage memorization and chan- nel the learning along strict paths. The text offers many excellent drawings, diagrams and color plates. There are 28 tables of informa- tion for easy reference. It is well organized, complete and up to date. The value of this book is attested to by its use in many schools of nursing.
