NURSING HOME ADMINISTRATIONFALL 2020 – SPRING 2021
PROGRAM INTRODUCTIONThe standards and expectations for nursing home administrators continue to evolve and change. Not only must future administrators invest in developing their knowledge base, the ongoing global pandemic is presenting new challenges to those who care for our most vulnerable populations. The 2020-2021 Nursing Home Administration program has been redesigned to align with the latest licensure examination topics and issues. By enrolling in this program, you will prepare yourself for the complexities of becoming a nursing home administrator. We invite you to consider attending this highly-respected program.
KEY LEARNING OUTCOMESAt the end of this program, you will:
• Have an enhanced understanding of how to be an effective nursing home administrator
• Understand key functions within the nursing home environment, including: customer care, supports, and services; human resources; environment; and management and leadership
This program meets the educational requirements for the State of Michigan’s Nursing Home Administrator license. By successful completion of this program and all of its requirements, you will be eligible to apply for and take the CORE and LOS examinations administered through the National Association of Long Term Care Administrator Boards (NAB). If you have questions about the licensing requirements, please contact the State of Michigan Licensing and Regulatory Affairs Office.
